Dealing with 85s in battle ring

I know the title seems retard but i argued with a friend about sapping 85s. I told him i had a bad luck on farming trinket atm, i looted 10 of them the first weak since i started but now i find every time a single 85 in the arena looting the chest. He told me to sap him and loot meanwhile but everytime i try, it seem that sap last after 2/3 seconds without the other player using insignia or other spell (well im only thinking watching the effects).

I was pretty sure sap couldnt do anything against higher lvl, am i right?



p.s. Is there any way to lower the casting time of looting the chest or having a sort of immunity against interrupt as a ftp?



edit: well i was right, tried with couple of ex guildies and their alts.

Against 85 sap seem to last after 2 seconds, against a 59 4 seconds. No one had a lvl 40 or similar, but i can suppose that if you find a lvl 40 in the stv arena, you have a chance to loot the chest before he wake up:p
 
Sap used to work but not so much after they changed duriation between PvE and PvP encounters.



You don't necessarily have to attack to Loot, with the freshly dinged etc. a tactic I have used with success on several occasions is jump in at the last moment, /wave, and proceed to Loot the chest.

low level toon c) in content above his level d) being friendly to them e) Looting the Chest and f) what to do about it (sticking a DoT on you is eg adorable), you may already have finished Looting the Chest (multiple people can do it at the same time, just make sure you're the one being first).



But yeah in general, one capped toon is a b*tch, two or more is a game.
 
Ive done sap looting, just need to be quick because the time it takes to loot is exactly the same amount of time they stay sapped for.

So make sure you sap and loot almost simultaneously.

As sweet as Tinkertons advice is, any player above the rating 1.5k will know to kill you and wont take 10 seconds to know how to kill someone 66 levels lower than them.

Also chances of ninjaing are slim as AoE abilities will 1 shot you.

Although gluck! and try bring friends with mains to help? My old guild; we would just pick one person who needed the trinket and then logged all our mains to clear stv. Very effecient as we got almost all our members the agm

usually i do attempt the chest at 0:00, 3:00 and sometimes 6:00, guildies sleeps at that time lol



and there is always the same 3 85s, but never at same times, in fact they loot it alone with no fight...



and no, sapping them last before you have time to loot the chest

It mainly depends on the person that you will run into. 98% of the time you will run into the person who is there -just- there for the achievement and nothing more. If you are able to get close enough and have a conversation with them; ask them how many trinkets they need compared to you. A good rule of thumb (and common curtsy) is to let the person who is closer, obtain the trinket. Harassing and flaming the person for being an achievement whore gets you no where, makes you look like an idiot and gives the person a negative attitude towards other people who are F2P.



Then you'll run into the 1% of people who are there just for the sport of the PvP, the person doesn't care if they win or lose, they just are there to kill people and shed blood upon the dirt floor. Simply talking to them and asking them if they won't attack you so you can loot the trinket works best with these kinds of people.



And then you just run into the people who don't like F2Ps and will camp the chest so no one can get it.

I had an undead warlock interrupt me a few times, and then some 85s from the same guild who wanted the achievement I guess, but other than that it wasn't too bad.
