Funny thing about this specific video is....none of the band members knew if Layne could pull this song off.

Jerry did an interview just shortly after Layne's passing. And he was asked direct questions regarding Layne's last public appearance. (which was the MTV unplugged). They asked Jerry what he thought about the Unplugged Performance. He stated, we'll we started off with the hardest songs to sing and I wasn't sure if we'd be able to get through it. He stated "you know Metallica was haggling us in the crowd" he said - it was really pissing Layne off and he couldn't stay focused. They took a break (2 minutes into start time and wrote a smartass comment on Mike Starrs' guitar). Came back out and sang and played our asses off. This was actually the first song they started off with on the performance even though it is recorded as the 4th song. Due to Layne getting pissed off at Metallica they started 2 minutes late. Hence they shuffled the songs on the live recording so that people wouldn't hear Layne calling Metallica pussies ect and all the shit talking that happened.


Now that you've read all of that...

Go back through all of the songs recorded on youtube in certain areas you can see Jerry looking over at Layne in amazement of his performances that night. There isn't a word for how fucking good the sound is. This happens to be one band I'm fully aware of. Specifically this song that was just posted.

1:30 - 1:38 -(Rooster) Jerry is completely blown away. That says a lot.......
2:14 - 2:23 -(Down in a hole) Jerry again - blown away...

Mind you - he was so fucked up on heroin for this.
