And I thought Sleep was slow doom. I cut my beard off last year, but I'm pretty sure I grew it back while I was listening to that. Good shit. Not sure if this is your speed or not, but this is a song from one of the best doom metal bands I've heard in a while. Super dark and slow though.
Let's discuss music people. There's nothing to be afraid of I swear.

"Reefer Sutherland" hahaha how clever. I've heard of these guys, but haven't heard this one before. Very awesome.Another one of my favorite heavy doom/stoner bands. I mean they're called Bongripper, what's not to like?

Here's some canadian dudes showing their doom metal prowess. Definitely in my top 10 of the genre.
I used to be that dickhead metal elitist guy years back. I've gotten better, but Meshuggah is definitely a band that makes me cringe every time.....maybe because I play several instruments and this kind of thingIn a different vein of heaviness, this has to be one of the heaviest songs I've ever heard. The guitar tone, the massssive drop at 3:03.
Disregard the slightly weird album art.
The Swedish death metal guitar tone is still the "heaviest" tone around in my opinion.
And these guys don't really incorporate the tone that Entombed invented. They're just really good swedish death metal.
A band I actually haven't heard before, how refreshing. Kind of a Suicide Silence type of vibe with all that chug-chug.Ah yes, the timeless Boss HM-2 sound. I have one of those that I like to mess with on occasion when I feel like noodling around with some Swedish death metal riffs.
This is one of my favorite heavy bands that uses the same style of guitar tone as your aforementioned, but with more of a modern twist:

I recently discovered these guys in the local scene here in Portland:
With a name like "Witch Vomit" I had to give it a listen.
