They kinda already did by casting her for the role.. I dunno, just seems like a very odd choice imo. Just another example of the prevalence of whitewashing in Hollywood I guess, so we shouldn't be too surprised.

Idk. I saw a video from Japan's perspective and they thought she looked like a perfectly fine choice since they make many of these characters Caucasian looking (regardless of name) in anime. Just my 2c. We'll see when it's out.
