current state of 49 twinking(US)?

i heard that people get WSG's during peak hours in ruin, everywhere else is dead.



school started for me and i havn't signed on since september 1st...



i am not in ruin and i havn't transfered or rerolled, i am basically focusing on school now while waiting it out, i am sure blizzard will figure out a solution soon!



even tho this is unfortunate, we are still way luckier than the majority of WoW players(chinese), they had to wait for like 2 months without WoW when blizzard switched operating company, and they still don't have WotLK yet...



oh, and did anyone hear about rated BG's in the future? i am happy that finally skilled individuals like myself will get to shine!(if its only for level 85, i am sure i will buy cataclysm in a heart beat and play 85 only!)
 
feels like its dying lately. we pushed hard and have over 300 level 49 twinks on Ruin. plenty to facilitate games during peak without an issue, for hours out of each day. but lately it seems people are getting sick of the waiting. they log in during primetime, and if there isn't a WSG up, they log out instead of waiting in queue and helping one pop. after school started and with the normal faction activity flexes caused by population balance - we're not in good shape lately.



that's not to say that it wont bounce back. like i said, we certainly have the total numbers to get games going without any real coordination. it's just been a nasty dry patch. i think the only guild having 8+ members queued at any particular time is <Lolbster>, and they seem to all come online for one steamroll game, then all log off. and i haven't even seen THAT the last few days that i've played.
 
I know Pel is going to faction transfer his rogue to Alliance on Manno, and a few others are following suit/bringing their Alliance toons over to (hopefully) bolster Alliance queues. Although I heard Horde were actually outnumbered last night.

ya, i saw Cutletka and Kaos both had alliance Rogues now.



i don't know if it's school, or what. but <Juiced> activity has gone down in a big way the last month or so. a 50+ person guild and only a small handful bother to log on.
 
For those who are Horde and not on Ruin but interested in getting in on the action who likewise don't want to spend $55 for transfer + faction change; what type of guilds are supporting re-rolled 49 twinks?



Are the big names on Ruin-Alliance <Juiced> and <Dolphins with Robot Arms>? For example, I was online around 6 through 7:30 pm today (Monday) and saw zero people online in Dolphins. But, from Armory, they have one of the more prominent crew in members. I know, I know, statistically insignificant example - true.



So, are there any others? Are these guilds supportive of doing 5-mans or assisting with re-rolls on mounts, tradeskills, BoEs, etc.? How is weekday activity ? What are the peak hours; past 6 EST? How are weekends?



Looking for a more in-depth look at the possible Alliance options. I found the master thread about Ruin servers with players, but was wondering who is really still active.



What I'm trying to get at is this: I don't want to waste valuable time of mine if there isn't really something out there worth going after. Honest answers please apply.

I have been so busy the last few weeks I have barely had a chance to log on and check emails.

I spend just under half the week in the studio as some incredible opportunities have come up and I have to get this stuff done as well as finalizing my application for enrollment next year to finish my degree that I deferred a while ago.........



Things will settle down in the next few weeks for me and I will be back with a vengeance.
 
Well school just started for this Troll. I will still play games once my schedule becomes normal.



Best thing about Ruin is my hit set and I imo.
 
Any others wish to comment? Was hoping for some more accounts of people's ears to the ground for Ruin. Are we about to flat line or we still got somewhat of a pulse?



Does Alliance need serious help with twinks at the moment, or just organization?
 
We've got a pulse, just have to find the right times to start signing on.



Pel and I did a swap after Lolbster rolled 5-7 people strong for two games and played Alliance for two games in which we pulled two wins for Alliance. After that, Alliance began queueing and we switched back over where we ran around 3-4 people in our group for the rest of the night. There were some hard fought games, include a 0-0 tie, a 2-2 tie, and an Alliance win and a Horde win.

I know <Born Legacy> is sponsoring rerolls for sure. <Juiced> is not, unless we know you and you're like Jesus on the field or something. dont know about anyone else.



i usually play between 9pm and 12am PST.

  • for the first month it was thriving. multiple WSG games up at a time. AB popped here and there. and arenas flowed constant.
  • school started up for many people and it died down, but for the next few weeks we were still getting 1-2 WSG games up. primetime seems to shorted a bit. games were popping later (good for me, bad for EST folks)
  • the last couple weeks have been rough. haven't seen more than 1 WSG up in awhile. some nights there have been between 0 and 2 games. but then there are nights like last night were there were at least 6 full games in a row about 10pm PST - 12am PST.



I think in general, weekends are very hit and miss. games do happen. and once some WSG games are up, usually you'll see people coming out of the woodwork and bothering to stay in queue instead of just logging on, seeing no games, and logging off.



i think it's worth having a 49 twink on Ruin. especially if you play later at night. on average, i play 3 all-twink 49 WSG games a night, plus a handful of 2v2 arenas. and honestly, that's pretty much what i was playing prior to the big patch - except this way i'm having more fun fighting twinks instead of level 46 kids decked in greens.



so ya. on average, i get 3 games. some nights are more. some nights i've played 10 games. some nights i get on at the wrong moment and just miss the only few games on a dead night, and i get nothing but arena.

I got a warlock (Magrimable) and a priest (Potthed) started prob affliction/disc respectively started on bleeding hallow.

A few gold to level would be nice but I can beg in SW too. Otherwise my leveling is pretty self sufficient.

Ruin in Ruins

This has been a brutal week for Ruin 49s... Sorryn and I haven't seen a game pop all week and from what others are saying it can be upwards of an hour before a game starts now.



Maybe we should start advertising a start time on weekdays/weeknights to see if we can at least get ppl on at the same time.



I heard there is a movement on 49twinks.com to start a private server? Anyone hear bout that?

Well I'm happy to report that I was able to finally get into WSG and the guild that I'm in (which is called Is Nub for anyone familiar with it) had about 7 players on at the same time! Only had one game but it still felt good to get back to playing.
 
Most US people that are on Ruin are familiar with IS NUB mostly thanks to Tenoa :).



Glad you did get a game in though.
 
wtf i was on last night and didnt get a single wsg. 2v2s were near instant for a bit but then slowed down to like 10mins and i just logged. my shaman - vindication - is in <IN> btw

Hmm it must be the time frame, I was on around 7 PM PST for a bit and after 9 PST and there were games going on. I think only one I saw after 9 but I didnt stay on much after that.
 
i think i was on around 8:30 server time. there was a rogue and tenoa on in guild, and kept seeing adt and a mage in arena before they dried up. havent been in a wsg since the patch and its disheartening.
