EU+US Cube of Discovery experience

My guess would be while farming imps with 3 monks for statues on the 3 main spawn points. And maybe a 101 arcane mage for quick bouncing between them and cleaning them up. This is speculation but it truly is the most mobs killable per hour. That’s why a lot of people like doing it for random legion epic drops.
 
I tested Cube of Discovery on my Level 99 Warlock now while I was grinding Murlocs in Azsuna for AP - BoE's. I used the Addon "Serverhop" so I always had the spot full of murlocs.
Began with 0 Gold to see how much Gold it gives.

After 1 Hour I had :
  • 1119 Gold 89 Silver 11 Copper in total
  • 710 Gold 86 Silver 81 Copper "Rawgold"
  • 409 Gold 2 Silver 30 Copper from selling grey Items
addiontionally I got :
In 1 Hour I got 800 Artefactpower
Since I had RNG on my side im not disappointed. 800 AP is a good side effect but I hoped it would drop more often

2 epic BoEs in 1 hour of not being in imp area. I’d say the RNG Gods were looking down on your for that farm man.
 
With the annoucement we got yesterday about the removal of trait progression, i finaly decided to test one my cube, the drop rate for [Strangely-Flawed Gemstone] seem similar to basic AP items, so whatever you are farming you will likely get 1 gemstone for each AP items. I got similar result as Mczizegg.
 
I finally got one yey, I think this thing has an internal cooldown like boon of the blood hunter (well documented internal cooldown even blizz mentioned once). That means you get 1 or 2 drops then nothing for a while.

So with this internal cooldown, the best way to farm is get a big bunch of mobs, nuke them but DONT LOOT, yet keep killing. Do your looting all at once. I have very good rates of drop this way, of course once you loot you need to logout and wait for your cooldown to be over (what internal cooldown is for the AP items who knows?). Very slow progress if you want to prolong your 2 hour cube buff but it is easy.

Tight screenshot and find.
You could stretch the amount of AP gained off each cube. How long are you logging in each clear?
 
So basically it works like Blood of Sargeras shoulder enchant, it only procs the ''icd'' once the mobs have been looted

Doing this with the seagulls I can kill all 40+ of them in 5 seconds (i have a monk to statue agro the entire small island). I can login and logout within 40 seconds so really getting alot from the cube buff (my maths say I would yield around 15k+ ap from a single cube BUT that internal cooldown is stopping me, of course 120+ loots would be 120 hours lol if the internal cooldown is the same as the boon).

Sounds great for an alt twink while your gearing out or farming AP on another.

Well, tbh I only play weekends so that is exactly what I have been doing with my warrior, every hour I remember I login and do it midweek :) been counting down from 40mins now for a fair few days.

This was my first cube, i quickly tried alot of things (including murlocks, goats etc). The gulls are good because it is a very quick pull for alot of mobs.
