So i logged on this very very very old 19 twink i had back in vanilla wich i havent even been on since TBC came out and noticed: DAMN i have the old Corporal title on this char, was just wondering how rare this title actually is in the 19 twink world as i havent twinked 19 since back then and havent really been interested in it
 
I have a level 21 rogue corporal, my first "twink" char, even though i was barely out of leveling greens. i havent touched it since i dinged it though :)
 
Maximum after the "lowbie rank" nerf was Sergeant. There was 3 obtainable ranks at level 19 after the nerf:

  1. Private
  2. Corporal
  3. Sergeant



I'd twink the character just out of the mere fact that the title is no longer obtainable. I myself have 2 sergeant twinks that is BiS. My first twinks as well :)



(And no, you can't get it cus rated BGs aren't available at level 19, trolls :))

Very few. Because there was a bug that allowed you to jump from Corporal to Master Sergeant. Only issue being, it was next to impossible to get, and the grind was horrible. Like trying to get Grand Marshal :)

Epoxy used to have the "Grunt" title
 
I have grunt and private on multiple old twinks, and a sergeant on my old favorite 19 twink. Sadly i out leveled my grunt rogue in the start of BC, i miss him now.

cool, I remember grinding my ass to exhalted with silverwing sentinells before TBC came cus we wanted the tabard and I thought that was a lot of pvp:p

- How insanely much did you have to farm to get the master sergeant?

- Does anyone have a armory of a 19 master steargeant?

- When was the bug?

I had a corporal (19 rogue), but deleted it because I was close to dinging and didn't have a lot of gear like seal of wrynn and tunic of westfall.

I so wish I didn't
 
I played 29s mostly before Burning Crusade, so I only have 29s and 39s with the title. My first twink was a 19 hunter but I leveled him through 29s/39s and he now sits as Sergeant in 39s.

there was a guy i used to work with that explained it to me once.



I think the way it worked was rankings were decided every week based on HK's compared to everyone else on your realm/bg, and the last week before it was removed they took off some sort of limiter that decided how high of a rank you could be, and your final rank would be solely based on the number of kills you made that particular week.



it was probably a bloodbath.



this was how my bud attained High Warlord, and he was the last person on his realm to do so.



I was told that there was one level 19 rogue grinded so hard he got the title past master sergent, but i have no proof of this and have never seen that toon.



thats what i know, sorry if my babbling makes little sense.



though i dont have a title of my own, its that work and dedication that makes me balk at the though of reinstating pvp titles. it will be fun, i've always wanted one, but i feel for those old players being spurned by the changes.

yeah dude, gm's restore stuff like that. im 100% certain your character is recoverable.
 
To answer the OP's question, I think the title is fairly rare for alot of the reasons already stated. One reason I did not see was that most folks that played enough to get the Corporal title were the type that pushed on to get Sergeant or further if they were high enough level. I think the situation where a player stopped with Corporal (especially at 19) and still kept that toon are pretty rare. No data, just speculation.



Reminds me of the old days . . . In the first generation of PvP in WoW, which consisted of unstructured combat at South Shore / Tarren Mills, my 30 something warrior made Corporal. I was the only under 50 toon with that rank on the server. I did it using a 35 blue crossbow. I'd pop into to range and hit a Hordie that I though would die soon and hence got credit for part of the kill. The difficulty was staying alive because popping into range to fire meant taking a ton of damage. Almost any other class at that level would not have been able to survive long enough to get credit for the kill.
 
I tried restoring... the GM says my char wasn't on the data thing. The same thing happened to my other 2 twinks who got deleted by a hacker. I guess blizz doesn't like wasting time on the low lvls :mad:

I've restored a level ten twink that had been deleted for six months. The ticket had to be escalated (guess they had to dig deep). So it's definitely worth a shot.
 
Items (I'm guessing chars as well?) are once deleted saved for another 2 weeks before they are gone from the Database. Having such an old character restored would seem impossible to me... but hey, worth a shot.
 
I asked a GM to restore my old 19 warrior twink, grunt title. however it has been years since i deleted it and they purge any data after every few patches. The only data they said they keep is that of lvl 50s and above.

A shame racechange wasnt out back then :( but female orc began to look NASTY.
