Conformity and how to revive 19s.

Everyone knows that 19s today (horde) are flooded with 700 hp, fiery dagger wielding, defias bandanna wearing, key turning, male UD rogues. I don't know for how long today's Elites have been playing... but over 5 years ago when I started, having some non bis gear, Vegan, Salt, and Del were shitting on me hard core.... did I want to be a part of <Mayhem> ? Hell yes... so, even though I beat Vegan on his pally in a duel >=), what did I receive after winning that duel?

I started out with "Hey" and before I could read my own writing, green text that said "YOU SUCK NOOB LAWL YOU BAD!" filled my chat window, followed by a guild kick. What happened after that?



Months later I returned geared properly on my New Rogue and was then a part of this hate spamming to non-bis "twinks". I'm not saying we need to start spamming people, I'm just saying we have to make them want to join up and gear up. After 5% of these terrible "twinks" are at least semi-geared and learn proper movement, our bracket will be flooded with a wave of new blood for the bracket to continue growing..



Why isn't this happening naturally like it has for years?

Answer: Skill doesn't matter as much, neither does gear, but having all BGs merged makes things very impersonal. We are now dealing also with realms of very low population, where they don't have anyone to look up to. Before bgs were xrealm, everyone knew who was the best on the realm, then with BGs: it wasn't as much server based as it had been... today I am the only 19 on Akama (Home of Mayhem) queuing, Kul Tiras (Home of Dominate) and for the most part Skullcrusher (Home of SBBH). Anyone I see who is attempting to twink at 19 on any of those servers is put through a lot from Me.

I feel like in order to revive this bracket, we need to do what <WT> is doing, or even <Static>.

Question: What are they doing?

Answer: Queuing with multiple people.

Question: Who want's to queue with people on their server?

Answer: Even though for the most part they are terrible, gear them up, get them good, make them worthy of a ginv and make them bis... Now you can queue with them to create productivity, they are now accepted in the twinking community, and that's one less idiot that we have to harass.



Sadly I feel like this all had to be said because I feel like 19s are going nowhere at all. Yeah most of you guys weren't from Vengeance so many of you may not even know me, but this can only help us, not hurt us in any way...



Please respond with some feedback, personally this was only to put a thought in your heads and I'm not going to epeen webtroll with most of you. This is a very viable and possible strategy that will help us all improve.

I totally agree, but i was once a 19 twink "wannabe" on madoran begging for gold because my main was a 34 pally, i cherished every bit of gear i got, then i became alot better and got into one of the good twinking guilds <wheres the rum> i was proud of myself, i jsut hope all these new twinks can become better even if they struggle for gold and gear.

Both factions has their games where they get 700 HP players. So you cannot disagree with that at all.



Although, I wouldn't say that they are flooded with them, as that is an overstatement as to what it really is.

Exactly, but they need people to look up to... It's pretty cool to look back to that and see that today you're very very solid. Everyone has to start somewhere, except Cirran and those old guys came up with 19s themselves and were the first, we can't let this crap die... And if this bracket starts looking up, I know many of the old talent will be back to check it out. We all just have to stay focused and more importantly competitive..
 
Would not healing the -1k hp people help? I tried playing a few days ago, gave up because I couldn't heal people that was getting shotted. Even the lvl 15 was dead before my first heal.
 
I agree with most of your post. I'm not sure if "harassing" is quite the right approach, however. I do think there are plenty of ways to encourage better gear/play among players new to the twinking community though.



I think some of the problem can also be contributed to the amount of twinks that server transferred since the introduction of xp-off battlegrounds. This has left a lot of servers that once had a strong 19 twink community with essentially none. Now we're left with a few servers/guilds that have most of the good players. And a lot of these twinks that have transferred to the good guilds are people who could/should be back on their old servers starting their own guilds and helping to promote the 19 community there.



But I'm not really sure if these people are willing to make a change at this point and step up to this challenge. Hopefully people will start to realize the benefits of spreading the good twinks out a little and hopefully the good guilds will help to promote this and view it as positive to the overall community in the end.
 
On the other hand, couldnt this discourage people from making twinks because they know they que just to get shit on? >.> That would hurt the bracket right?
 
i enjoy talking shit to the nontwinks but have found politely asking them to leave in whispers to be more effective

Did you not reach my previous posts man, if your comment is directed towards me i have been twinking since BC mind you i have quit and com back several times. Oh judgmental pricks these days.
