Classic Goldmaking For Dummys

How much time do you spend at mailbox and listing/relisting?

TSM is your friend.
I spend maybe 10-15 minutes in the morning while I am eating breakfast at the AH in IF. I rarely put anything on the AH in the AM unless it’s a weekend or the items are trade goods. There just isn’t that many people o that early in the morning and it would be waste of money to post items in AH if there isn’t anyone logged in to buy them. Trade goods are cheap to put up in the AH. So they can be put on for 8 hours. Enchanting mats are free to put up. I mostly buy stuff in the morning.
Maybe another 10-15 when I get home. Post stuff for 2 hours. Buy what I can below my threshold.
Come back in a few hours if I’m not too busy doing other things and post/purchase again.
Rinse/repeat daily. Having a routine is optional for gold making.
However, you can’t let the game run your life. It can be like a drug. There have been times when I haven’t logged on for weeks because I was busy with other things, mostly work or other hobbies. It’s merely a game.

Remember...
Certain things sell better on weekends and at higher prices.
Certain things sell better on Tuesdays/Wednesdays and at higher prices.
Certain things sell cheaper during the week or weekends.
The key is to know and learn your market.

Flipping mats I only post once a day. I spend maybe 10-15 minutes shopping a day but don't shop every day. For most crafting and boe's I repost every 2 hours but I use a second account so that makes it much easier. That said I recommend posting 2 hours for boe's because deposit costs are still crippling if not done right. For alchemy I post 8 hours because the deposit costs are low enough to justify it. I haven't gone into flipping boe's yet but I will.

Edit

TSM makes posting very simple once its set up. You just hit post and it scans auctions to see if they're in your price range and then you just click through them to post them. If they're not in your price range it won't even give you the option to post them. If you set it up right you can't lose gold from crafting. Again I'll get into that later but the videos are out there so you don't have to wait for me to update. Samadan also has some very good tutorial vids out there if you're interested.

Correct, you have to be extremely careful flipping BoEs. The AH fees can eat you alive if you aren’t careful. I generally stay away from the BoE market. It is lots of people’s bread and butter though.

It's profitable but could be so much better with lower deposit costs or higher values. I just started flipping them a month or two ago with 50 or 100g, I honestly don't remember. I have a different ah toon for everything I do so its easier to keep track of how profitable a certain activity is. Whenever I loan money to a different ah toon I pay it back. Dumb I know but I can keep accurate records that way. I've built up an inventory and now focusing on getting higher value items in my bags.

Reading comprehension is hard I know. You know the part that says we'll start simple and go into greater depth later. But yeah this is the whole fucking guide. What the fuck? Read what I said or shut the fuck up. You don't have to like what I say or do. I'm trying to give good info to people that want it. If you don't want it then move along.
Agree with you thanks for the tips ignore the hate big ups.

Great guide, way better than that jojo dudes.

Nope, but looks real now, good job.

I'm so glad you approve but I don't understand why you have to try and shit on someone while they're trying help people out. To tell everything about tsm that I know would take hours and I don't know close to everything about it.

Well the initial post was you essentially scamming somebody and trying to pawn it off as a gold guide, now that its a little more serious its a different scenario.

Yeah I'll go into greater depth as time goes on as to why your initial post was dogshit, but for now I'll let you be irritated.

Funny thing is my first post is probably my biggest gold maker. Always ask how much they want because you just never know. Time per gold made its easily the best. I don't go out of my way to find those deals. I just get them when they pop up.

I shouldn't even do this but it sure took a lot of work to get a nice comment out of you. I don't want to give the impression Im rubbing it in or anything but goddam it took a lot of work.

I don't think its a shitty method to simply ask someone what they want for something, whil you do research and understand market concepts and pricing. if that dude had run even a basic scan using auctioneer he would have seen the price difference and would have asked for a higher price.

same in real life. the best money is made off uninformed sellers.
Pro-Life Tip before selling something, find out what others are getting, and be reasonable. if you don't want to see something, jack up the price to make it worth selling it. People hate capitalism because they don't want to learn how to use it. they just want it to be fair with zero effort.

Only some people hate capitalism. I’d dare say those people are the vocal minority.
Most just mind their own business and keep their mouths shut.
The issue is the vocal minority is the ones that garner all the attention.

TSM keeps tracks of sales, what you purchased, your incoming gold, outgoing gold, etc. it will do it on each character individually or for your entire account(s). It will show you how much liquid gold you have/had available as well. It can show you how much all your assets are worth as well.

I know that it does but its just easier for me to run multiple bank toons. Bag space in classic makes multiple bank toons a necessity for me anyhow.
