Classes/specs to solo dungeons? Lvl 10,11 or 20 now in TWW

What is a twink if not to challenge one's own limitations? Doing something otherwise no average joe can do. It's orgasmic when my Warlock deals 3,000-3,500ish Chaos Bolt on anything that moves, I'm sure that is low compared to other toons since I'm still not properly geared yet.
Just got my BLOOD DK to do over 1k in a single death strike, which i thoroughly enjoy much! Trying to top off my vers rn, hoping to get 10% and been grinding for amnesia for forever

For comparison, regular blood dks with just ilvl 84 stuff usually get a death strike for 500-600

Ret is pretty decent once you gear up. Timewalking Runeblade is such a quality of life improvement once you get one. Spellpower scaling with strength is pretty amazing with paladins. The runeblade only heals for 42 per 5s on my warrior, but 225 per 5s on my paladin. That's like wearing a set of SL gems for non-vet F2P. You can solo some bosses faster and safer compared to prot.

I like swapping to Runeblade + Ret for some boss fights since Prot's single target isn't very spicy. Might be one of my favorite items lol

With how much Resto Shaman and Guardia Druid do, I can't agree on that one. I personnaly would rank it third though, I'd give the benefit of the doubt to Warlocks as I haven't played much but even then I don't see them as better than Pallies. The most solid spec of them all for sure but when you take Resto's insane damage and Ghost Wolf or Druid's stealth ablitiy, movement speed in cat form and overall solid damage while both being sturdy enough for survivability to not be an issue then you can't consider Pallies first. The damage and utility doesn't compare.

Full disclosure, my resto shaman's gear was peak circa BFA. I haven't played it with the SL gems, so I don't know how much they help shaman survive big pulls nowadays. At least in BFA smaller pulls were required on the shaman due to their squish and spell delay from taking damage. If clear speed is the metric I think prot has the edge. Single target damage isn't even close though. I don't want to debate too hard because it's been awhile since I did a dungeon on the shaman. Could always be wrong.

I might have been overlooking druid. Last time I played them you needed to leave bear form to heal. Their mobility + stealth + frenzied regen + SL gems probably make them great at clearing. Should really dust mine off.

I love Prot but I don't think it compares in terms of cleaning speed. Mail + Shield makes Shaman fairly tanky alongsidd the 10% HP talent and your heals are out of this world with the only active healing being Riptide and every once in a while Earth Shield.
The damage is ungodly and Ghost Wolf allows for easy skips with the HoT of riptide/earth shield and its 20% damage reduction.
Coming back to the damage, Acid rain makes AoE absolutely amazing, perhaps the best at 20 at least on packs of 3-5 and as you said single-target is out of this world.

Prot is sturdier for sure and AoE is excellent as well but I don't think it can compare to Shaman, they feel kind of untouchable right now. Give them a go, even with -meh- gear they can do wonders ^^

For druids yeah having heals in bear form is amazing now. Their damage is quite solid and they've got invisibility which is super convenient.

Now I apologize about all that mess.

While I'd say I've been rather respectful overall it's not up to me to decide. I'm usually not that kind of guy (at least I like to think so) and I hope you guys wont hold me too much of a grudge

This was a silly thing, if I can justify it that would be by simply feeling @Lethys' way of writing / choice of words and punctuation as rather disrespectful and answering triggered rather than waiting a bit. Maybe I'm right, most likely wrong, in any case we shouldn't have went so far for a silly damage meter point.

If there is any argument to be had it'll be done via PMs so as to not pollute the thread any further.

I'll try not to do such a thing again and I once again apologize to everyone.

Y'all have a good one.

A little off topic, but...

TLDR: For a full group of 5, would it be best to all be level 11 versus 20? My my very limited experience it seems like 11's do more damage than 20's.

I have 4 friends new to xpOff ( and I've only been doing it a few days myself ). We want to group up and do a variety of PvE stuff ( mostly dungeons ).

I'm trying to figure out what the best level for us all to be is. After seeing an 11 Fury Warrior in action last night ( Catastróphe ) I was SOLD and immediately ditched my 20 DK and have been running TW dungeons to get gear.

When we grouped in the past, 3 of my friends loved being hunters as they would often just auto-follow me or the healer while watching tv and just spam a GSE macro. Since hunters don't get "interrupted" while moving, they managed to contribute without paying much attention. Is an level 11 hunter better than a 20?

And it sounds like a Restro Shaman would be the way to go for a healer. Again, 11 or 20?

Tank : 11 Fury Warrior
Lazy DPS : 11 Markmanship Hunter x 3
Healer 11 Restro Shaman

One of the things we want to do is farm some mounts (after we gear up). I have a subscription so I can group us up. We did this almost a year ago when we were all 70, got a few nice mounts but there's always more...

I noticed that getting decent gear is pretty easy for 20's -- just spam Chromie's event "dungeon" and get L89 gear. Then do some TW dungeons and get L96. But at level 11, you only get L35 gear from that Chromie event, and TW dungeons drop L60 which is quite a big difference. That being said, we all have some time this holiday week and during Christmas Vacation to spend time to gear up the "best" team.

If you're clearing on an 11 fury it doesn't really matter what the rest of the group is doing because of how fast you'll kill stuff. They can be 11s, 20s, or a mix.

My problem with 11s is that they can't queue for every dungeon + their kit is limited. They do one thing good but they get boring (to me). I personally wouldn't bother with an 11 hunter or shaman because they're missing abilities.

If you're curious what other 10s/11s are doing:
https://xpoff.com/threads/10s-armory-list.94573/

Is there a FAQ or intro guide? I've spent some time looking around and "bookmarked" a few pages (10/20 armory, various class threads, etc)

To me this is a complete game changer.

I've been playing off and on since the beginning. My biggest gripe about WoW has always been the endless gear grind. So finding this has been life changing. I can finally just grind gear ONCE then enjoy the benefits forever.

I have one of every class at 70 and they are all decked out in the end of expansion event gear ( Dalaran Defenders -- 480-502 ). I had some fun playing my Retro Paladin and was amazed at how much damage he was doing, but NOTHING drops gear upgrades for 70's ( so it feels like they are done ).

But this "new" below 20 thing feels so rewarding as I can see my toons getting more powerful as they collect L60 gear from TW dungeons.

Having a blast and am telling everybody I know, lol.

:FrogeConcern:

Level squishes and item scaling changes can be more cruel than you'd think.

Would you believe my old level 10 shaman used to be a pretty dank 20?

I didn't even think about how that must have affected everybody here. I personally HATED it as, since I didn't focus on gear, I had a TON of max level toons. I rage quitted after the squish for a long time, lol. I came back in force at the end of the last expac's event where you could level up like crazy easily and deck yourself out in the best gear ( Dalaran Defenders ).
