Changes in Stealth Detection

Source

We recently made some changes to items that grant stealth detection. We felt these items provided a necessary advantage in competitive PVP and forced players to use lower level equipment even when more powerful items were available to them.

This item can no longer be used in the Arena:

* Ultra-Spectropic Detection Goggles

We have removed stealth detection from the following items:

* All epic engineering goggles

We have reduced the stealth detection of the following items:

* Catseye Ultra Goggles

* Blood Guard's Dragonhide Gauntlets

* Marshal's Dragonhide Gauntlets

* Knight-Lieutenant's Dragonhide Gloves

* General's Dragonhide Gloves

* Bloodvine Lens

* Knight-Lieutenant's Dragonhide Grips

* Blood Guard's Dragonhide Grips

* The Night Watchman

All of these changes are already active and the tooltips will be updated with the next minor patch.

With engineering being a staple profession in this bracket and specifically the epic 350 goggles that everyone seems to wear, what are your opinions on these changes?

Will the engineering head pieces still be BiS or will classes be looking into more options?

What about the other stats on the head pieces?

For instance, I have a hunter and rogue in this bracket both sporting the goggles. With the stealth detection removed snow goggles look a little more appealing now with the higher stats.

Comparing both of them on my rogue, if I were to update to the snow goggles I'll lose just under 1% crit and damage bonus from the meta gem and also like 2dps but gain ~400HP and 20 cold resist. I'm not worried about losing the +hit from the epic goggles cause I'm hit capped regardless.

meh with the stealth talents from sub i can never find rogues even with the goggles=\

I still get spotted occasionally in stealth even with the talents and the stealth level bonus from my boots. But then again it might be someone spaming tab and death grasp.

I almost always see other rogues first.

use #showtooltip Sap

/console targetNearestDistance 10.000000

/targetenemy [noharm][dead]

/console targetNearestDistance 41.000000

/cast [harm,nodead] Sap

If you think there is another rogue around.

i put next target on my forward mouse scroll and last target on my backward mouse scroll Works like a sweet toggle and i can basically try to target a stealth every second without the arthritis of rapping tab.
