Stealth detection is reduced now. It granted +18 Stealth Detection before, I'll have to test how much it grants now. It was a huge advantage over Rogues who didn't have it, getting the opener on another Rogue is oh-so important in this bracket, especially with the lack of health.

What if it grants 5 or 10 SD now, will you still use yours? Even if it only gives a minimal advantage, I still think I'd use it.

They're still very useful, but that's kind of lame that they took off stealth detection on the epic engi gogs, I was looking forward to that. :( Oh well, passive perception and detect invis ftw.

any advantage is better than no advantage.

I'll still use mine, though I'm a bit bummed about the nerf cutting my effectiveness versus human and possibly nelf rogues.

also, wouldn't using lower level gear be a balance to having an advantage?

what gives? bleh.

i liked the advantage they gave me, but its a shit piece of gear on its own compared to other headpieces ( expert miners, 12/12 monkeyhat etc) because it had no stats.. pre-nerf u could put a libram on it to make it more useful.. ill use mine in arenas still i think

expert helmet & catseye elixir ftw in other places

once again blizz strikes with a forked tongue on that response, especially with the second sentence. the reason they gave and the all out nerf conflicts.

then why are they nerfing all sleath detection items? including what 80's wear? the engineer goggles 70 and 80's wear are epic quality and are not inferior. it's not like a 80 is dumping engineering epic head gear to wear something of lower quality or level.

once again, their explanation of what they are doing is poor and has a hidden agenda on why they did it.

I do agree with this, it appears to me that more recently blizzard just seems to be pulling random things out of their ass to change in the game, for the sake of changing the game...

"detect invis ftw. "

stealth and invisibility are two completely seperate things.

They not changing things just to change them. If you have been playing Blizzard games for a while, and I mean a while as in Diablo I and II and Warcraft I, II, III; then you would know they have a reason for everything. As a matter of fact, they didn't change things enough. They don't always say these reasons. I don't know why, but they don't.

Have to understand that it costs them time and money to make changes. Also, they risk downtime and server troubles. They wouldn't just do it to do it.

Also notice they targeted everything that gave stealth detection, not just one item. There is a reason there somewhere. Common sense tells me they just think they are too OP'd. Which, in the humans class, they are. You can spot a rogue a mile away with Perception (passive) and Cats Eye goggles, which probably is unfair in its own right.

That's my input. =D

No, but some do dump headgear of higher quality or level to wear the engineering ones. Hell some drop entire professions just to get the goggles because of the stealth detect. And rather than just nerf 1 item, they nerf stealth detect as a whole.

Their entire reasoning is "Its more fair if you rely more on the abilities of your class than the items your wearing". It applies as equally at 39 as it does at 80.

only thing that make would make sense is if they came out and said:

we have noticed that our employees, friends, kids, celebrities, and family within the vivendi corporation that attempt to PVP without having engineering are at a huge disadvantage against stealth classes and stealth VS stealth situations. we also mostly play alliance NE and HU which our latest changes reflect and want to maintain the stealth superiority we have built in these classes and not have it negated.

i have no 80 or a high level with engineering, if i did i would be furious, as most 80's do the engineering for the epic head piece and mostly with PVP in mind. now it's just a epic head piece that one gets to wear in your 70's.

now that i come to think of it? was stealth adds nerfed from other items, trinkets, boots, or enchants in the game?

rogues/druids can sacrifice a good cloak enchant to get just "stealth" on a cloak

a JC could equip the lvl-70 panther blue trinket from CE has +1 stealth, the lvl-70 panther epic trinket from shattered sun has +1 stealth, or green panther trinket with slight stealth

other players could also equip "the master's treads" +1 stealth, nightscape boots +1 stealth, etc etc.

gee......Blizz....WTF? here are situations where players can wear gear that is inferior to gain a advantage or lose stats to gain stealth

Lol you said essentially what I was trying to say, I just didn't feel like elaborating upon what I meant by "changing things for the sake of changing them" that is what I meant though. Basically a hidden favoritism towards things that blizzard employees solely come in contact with or what would see m to be a hidden change that might have that as an underlying cause. As for the +stealth I completely agree, if people are using inferior gear to gain an advantage, what about the usage of equally inferior gear to gain another said advantage. And could not that "inferior" gear that adds stealth be used to counter the advantage of the other inferior gear that detects stealth? Sloppiness, invalid explanations, and improper reasoning is all I see in patches recently...

what is really sad is how according to the BLUE post, they have already pre-nerfed them, put nothing in last patch notes and then later releases this info? this is a major change. yet.....they took time to tell us that a low level cooking "dig rat stew recipe" could now purchased in the notes.

but blizz has done this before, on the UD will of the forsaken, the 5 sec immunity was removed in the summer of 2008 on a patch prior to wotlk pre-patch. the tool tip was there, just like the stealth detect but didn't work.

i was doing GM tickets when i was feared by a priest, hit WOTF, and was refeared instantly by another priest. was told "working as intended". when wotlk rolled and i saw the immunity tool tip was gone i realized what they did. since alot of players didn't notice and blizz didn't have to take flack, they then put it in the notes, although it had already been done

Rogues get carried to 2200 by engineering at 80. I consider those people retards.

Definitely not, even if people do open on me.

without goggles and enchanted cloak it is a little hard even as human. want to see if it is possible to play a human without goggles and just stick to the cloak enchant, but atm the right cloak is missin.
