So with the new BoA gear crit has taken a big nerf imo. Twinks now have 15-25 resilience on average. Which should reduce crit chance by 4-6% (*Edit WRONG- 1.6%) on average and reduce crit dmg. Correct me if im wrong but for dps it goes



sp > hit > crit > int.



and for heals.

crit > sp > int > hit(N/A)



Capping hit is at 6 (i think) for the 19 bracket. So to cap for casters > 3.1 you would need the spidersilk drape and lavishly jeweled ring, But spirit taking a nerf, Those slots will be important for mana regen so pvp cloak>spidersilk drape and seal of wrynn>jeweled ring.



To make up for the crit nerf and the hit cap for itemization i will be going with surefooted when i get my fishing boots. Thoughts?
 
resil is terrible at this bracket, its nothing to care about, 15 resil is around 1%



and the caster hit cap is 7
 
Hmm must be my calculations off. Using wow wiki.



Levels 8 through 60 use the following formula:

Rating for 1% resilience = (Level - 60) * (0.48) + 25

(19-60) * (0.48) +25 = 5 rating per percent.

20/5 = 4%?



wow armory reports my 'crit resist' at 1.6% with 20 resilience. Thats still a crit nerf though.
 
15 resilience for any level 19 and 29 is reduces change to be critical hit reduced by 1.2% (also dot dmg red.). Dmg of the critical hit reduced by 2.64%.

EDIT: They reduced all defence skills to all level -35 have the defense like a level 35 to make dodge less powerful (not only why but the biggest reason).
 
Ahh that explains it then. Did not know all defence were 35.

So spirit is taking nerf and you now want to invest more heavily in it? This does not compute.



I also laugh at anyone that doesn't have a run speed increase for PvP. Not in a mean way, but it's just funny seeing them try to chase me and fall behind or see them try to kite me and make no progress.

Spirit is taking a nerf ya, where did i say i wanted to invest more heavily in it. yea the +2 on the cape, but seal of wrynn is win in general.
 
WSG, any classes don't need the run speed at all !

Warlocks for exemple, with fear and dots eating you, they really need more stam to their boots then they need the run speed. same goes with hunters, i prefer to put +12 agil to boots then cat swiftness ! Mages needs more stam too. they got nova to get out anyway or any chill effect they can make !



i do agree that all the melee classes needs it though.

as for the changes in 3.1

spirit won't be used at all anymore. the regen at high level is the only thing that made it worth, if they switch it then its not even worth putting in that stat at all ! blizzard are trying hard to fix lots of problems, but they fail in finding real solutions. would be easy for them to completely stop giving while casting regen instead of just nerfing things !
