Can i redo this quest?

So i recently completed the quest "Tea Party" and chose the Trunsky trinket.

Was happy about an epic procc, then noticed its nerfed in PvP, and realized Mr.Munchykins would've been the much better option. (to give me or team mate 100ish haste).

So i've written an dramatic GM ticket about "accidently choosing the wrong quest reward".. hoping they'd swap while knowing they wont. (ofc they did not). ;)

Now i've noticed the quest on Alliance Tea Party has a different ID than the Horde version Tea Party

That made me curious if i could xfer to horde and complete it again like old Argas quest. So to simulate an xfer, i copied my toon to the PTR and faction changed it, then i used "/script print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(53465))" to check horde progress.. and indeed it was "completed" ... o_O even tho its a different quest ID??

Has anyone had any experience with this? any tricks? It used to be so easy with stuff like Argas rings...
I remember couple years back, people used to xfer realm + faction to be able to redo some kind of quests. The added realm change apparently resetting certain quest progress??

Or do you think its simply shared quest progress despite different quest ID's, and its basically rip?

I did something like this years ago on a 110 twink. I ended up getting 2 of several unqiue bop that in fact weren't unique because the other factions item id was different. xffering back to og faction I was able to do roughly half the quests that I reset when I first xffered. It stumps me why only half reset. I'd assume what chops said though. BIG RIP

My xffer wasn't to a different server and didn't include a name or race change.

have you tried psyncing with someone after an xffer? idk what that might do.

not familiar with this specific quest, but can’t you party sync it? i remember as f2p we were (are?) able to party sync and redo the gorgrond questline and get a second book for garrison plans.
