The sad fact is, I have already proven in another deleted thread that the US has the SUPERIOR health system by FAR and that European countries do in fact pay more because they pay almost 1/2 of their income in taxes. In some cases OVER half of their income goes to taxes. How is that for "free"?
Over taxation was one the leading reasons for the US Revolution after all.

I will give you a perfect example of the US medical system in action. Recently, my wife had a transient ischemic attack (mini stroke). She was hospitalized for three days. It cost us a grand total of $2400.00 of out of pocket. And we can choose to defer some of that cost, should we choose, with a special account of pretax money that we have sat aside for such instances. So, in fact, her hospital stay could end up costing us nothing out of pocket.
How, you ask? Because we planned ahead, and did not depend on the government.
I have stated this many many times. Failing to plan is planning to fail.
