So are we talking on average here, or at best? At the top, we have cheesecakes and cream pies. Both are very good, and difficult to choose between. However, I'd take an average cake over an average pumpkin pie any day. Then again, apple pies, blackberry pies, raspberry pies... mmmm...

So- where does cheesecake fit? I mean, it has cake in the title, but also has a crust, which is a defining characteristic of pie, AND it's cold and pie-like.... cake or pie?!?

The cake is a lie.... nothing comes close to the mighty awesomeness that is pie.

Cake has to win here. You're logic is that pie is versatile and can be eaten in almost any situation, or is in itself, a meal. You can't use the meal logic because anytime there is cake involved, even when you eat a pie for the meal, everyone is looking forward to the cake, not the pie you had for the meal. Furthermore, pie is limited to a small little pan, whereas a cake can be GIGANTICLY HUMONGOUS. So if theres a party and people are bringing food, you bring a pie that feeds 4 of the people, someone else brings a cake that feeds everyone, with some leftover.
