I see a lot of focus on BIS but often the item is nearly impossible to find or is on the AH for an exorbitant amount. What to use instead?

I will start this out then add to this list as people respond

Horde Misc Use Items:
Really Sticky Glue = 10 charges = Throws a net on enemy.
Faintly Glowing Skull = 1 use = Steals 75 to 125 life from enemy.

Horde:
2h Staff = Crescent Staff = Quest chain at L10 = +7 int +7 sta +7 spi. Replacement for Twisted Chanter's Staff. This is the same quest chain as Wingblade.
Gloves = Jutebraid Gloves = Quest = +6 str +6 int. Replacement for Magefist Gloves. If you cherish intellect.

Alliance:
Chest = Efflorescent Robe = Quest at L17 = +2 int + 9 sta. Replacement for Tree Bark Jacket
Legs = Pious Legwraps = Quest at L13 = +8 sta +8 spi. Replacement for Darkweave Breeches.

Both:
Chest = Corsair's Overshirt = Boss Drop = +5 sta +11 spi. Replacement for Tree Bark Jacket
Chest = Gray Woolen Robe = Crafted = +5 int +4 sta. Replacement for Tree Bark Jacket
Mystic's Wrap used to be my go-to for TBJ stand-in but it does not have the same stats in Classic.
Feet = Sanguine Sandals are easy to find, and a common drop.
Waist = Bright Belt = Drop = +4 int +4 sta. Replacement for Keller's Girdle (which is not too rare, but will sometimes sell for 10g)
Gloves = Raven's Claws = +3 int +4 sta = rare spawn drop. Or use any 4/4 glove. Replacement for Magefist Gloves which can be 10g+
Legs = any 5/5 pants. Replacement for Darkweave Breeches, which can be 10g+

Has anyone confirmed that this is obtainable at level 19? I've heard that one part of the quest requires 20+.

Curious... if Sanguine Sandals are the replacement, what is BiS? I thougt they were BiS.

Just listed them so people don't get discouraged and think they are somehow rare. Wait a little bit of time on AH or run Blackfathom and they will drop.
