It has always been like that. The queue system tries to set up a game as fast as possible, so if it can create a group of 10 with some combination of a big group who queued after you and individuals who were queued before you, it will do it.

Not the case here as solo queuers that queued 15 min after me got in game and I didn't.

Happened a couple of days but all in all the night went incredibly smoothly. Had to play a couple on my rdruid (which I never play and don't really care for) because priest got skipped but played most games on priest. Lots of fun.

Make sure youre not using the queue macro for skirmishes as it bugs your bg queue

Good to know - just queueing through the find a party system. Didn't even know there was a macro!
