Since I'm more into Classic WoW:

Choose Your Era – Prior to Burning Crusade Classic’s release, WoW Classic players can decide whether to advance each of their characters to the Burning Crusade era with the rest of their realm, or to continue playing the original WoW Classic content on new Classic Era servers.

@Anexa Can you pls make helpful thread on what to do as lvl 19 before bc


I am also interested in what the full time classic players are doing. Are people leaving twinks on classic if allowed or bringing to BC

Sounds like a free character transfer to vanilla-only servers, not an option to continue on your original server for classic.

Seems.... mildly problematic.

Why? Progress to TBC or stay on separate Classic server. Wasn't this what was expected?

the thing is, the realms are moving to TBC and there will be "new classic era servers" for people who want to stay in vanilla. Which means xferring those toons to new servers. Could be a problem but could also be an opportunity for classic twinks to pick and then migrate to a central hub. if they wanted to.

I guess, but it splits up all your toons. I guess there was no other way but all in either way.

That's a really cool point, but it also splits BC and vanilla decisions effectively reducing the bracket player pools.

Back then when you didnt have a choice it was an easy choice... ;)

True. What about having the option to copy your char to a Classic Era server but also still progress to TBC on that toon?

Yeah not my impression either, was just wondering if that would be a better scenario, population wise.

Benefits the player too much, blizz would rather make you reroll to pump up those MAU numbers and keep ya subbed.

It's a really good option tho... so probably not. Still cool to get a choice to xpac or not, tho.

TBC is peak of twinking, I would say whoever stays for vanilla twinking is lame. Only bad side of it is how applying leg armor can basically turn any casual/non-twink into a twink. I'm also concerned about the population of TBC since it is not that popular expansion on private servers. The cores are shitty scripted however, Blizzard's OG one will be worth playing

Only things you can do is:
1. Get naxx shoulder enchants.
2. Stack WSG / AB marks to 20/20. Vendors will apparently not have any rep requirements in TBC
3. Get TBC upgrades (lvl 19 upgrades)

There is no stress about it tho. Could do it when you know for sure that you can transfer your twink to TBC.

Only thing you should be stressing about is to get naxx enchants on https://classic.wowhead.com/item=5404/serpents-shoulders before it becomes BoP in TBC

My understanding of the wording is that all current servers will automatically become TBC. The new classic era servers would be fresh start and require a reroll.
