Okay so. Necro inc.

First of all: The game is trash, wouldn't recommend, for multiple reasons. See below. I decided to give it a shot again because of extreme boredom™, so here's my hot takes™:
(i) The game's fucking dead.
(ii) How to beat a private (fun) server: become one. I literally immediately redeemed like 50 fucking free codes that gave me like a billion of silver or something. Definitely felt way out of whack (but good boost, ngl), and certainly way more of a boost than I've ever got on a pserver before (!).
(iii) Regarding (i): Massive P2W killed the game. So what do? Double down ofc! There's sales and constant bonuses rewarding massive whale spending ($200 a week, :KEKW: Krappa :PeepoGlad:)
(iv) Bugs. Bugs, Bugs bugsbugsBUGSBUGS BUGS BUGS, BUGS! Legit encountered more bugs on retail BDO than on a decent WoW pserver. Mobs stuck in rocks. UI locking up. Inconsistent Esc behavior. I CANNOT ENTER MY FUCKING HOUSE!!!11111
(v) AFK simulator.
(vi) BoE (and BoP) exist for a fucking reason.
To be fair tho (ii) is a good idea all things considered (theres also other stuff like a set of free III/IV gear) to help out newcomers, but fundamentally is a game's Bankrotterklaerung because any gap of such a megalomaniac size between newcomers and veterans is a fucking epic failure in game design. However, that seems to be the norm amongst krpgs/jrpgs.

Anyways, if you need something to kill your time (or fap material :KEKW:), this might be right up your alley. The game's graphics are quite beautiful, and has a lot of interesting concepts. Unfortunately, this becomes a classic case of many cooks do spoil the broth - the game tries to be something of everything and kinda manages to be nothing of anything instead. A lot of the concepts and features feel unpolished, lazy and not fully explored.
Some other hot takes™: Don't fucking waste your time/money on the shit enhancement gamble. Buy your gear from the AH (remember, no BoP/BoE :KEKW:) and pawn it off when you're done using/ready to upgrade. Vendor your Crons, they're 200,000 each. You can do something more useful with that cash.

EDIT: One last thing I forgot: There's a reason why WoW has the combat system as-is. MMORPG Diablo doesn't work. Speed of light will make sure everyone's experience is abysmal. Don't try to beat cold hard physics with your game design.

Korean sandbox mmorpgs in nutshell.

PvE is fairly boring/monster grind and in pvp you have to deal with credit card warriors.
Even if the game somehow gets ported to the west, like for example Archeage Unchained, with "no p2w".

You still will have to deal with systems such as upgrading your gear, which of course doesnt come from any meaningful pve, but from grinding dailies, and then having your gear get locked because the upgrade failed. So go do dailies again to unbrick your gear, and then dailies next few days again to try upgrade again, but this time with +5% chance to succeed.

All while being in pvp zones that have bored people with maxed out gear that oneshot you.

So yeah, looks all gorgeous, jiggly, and thats about it for the positives most of the time.

One more thing I forgot, just to add injury to insult: Bad Ideas About PC Games, Featuring Mobile:
(a) Time-limited resource you get to P2W (Energy), which limits certain actions
(b) Login bonuses

But yeah.

EDIT: Also, to be fair as to the things that the game does well: The music is simply awesome.

I completely forgot I even made this thread. I threw away the idea completely and forgot the game existed. So im not gonna bother touching it as im busy COLLECTING FUCKING SPELL FIRE OIL FOR WEEKS NON-STOP NOW. THANK YOU BLIZZARD!

I mean by any means
The thing is, the game's a time killer and for that there are arguably both better and cheaper options available ...
For something more uhm competitive, look elsewhere
