  • hey, guys i recently leveled my druid to 80 after regreting lvling my 80 pala out of this backet, druid looks like alot of fun, Does anyone have a BiS Feral kitty dps and bear tank chardev . I am going to spec tank and dps i guess the is a gear difference for dps.

    thanks in advance, Razzerz.

Gear is the same, reforging is different. Might throw something together when I'm not on my iPad...but first you should try to create one, it isn't hard and it will help you in the long run
Since u said tank and dps I assume you mean only pve, but you might wanna clarify.

being 2.11% from hit cap isnt going to kill you since cats arent gcd bound. but if you wanted its only 65 hit from the cap so you could find a way
exp cap was changed to 23 for 80s in the cata prepatch, and i havent heard of it being changed back so you should be exp capped
you'll be doing ridiculous bleed damage, esp when the trinket procs, while still having hard hitting direct damage attacks and a decent amt of haste

for bear dodge is good, and socketing for agi helps boost threat and savage defense uptime + size

I've been wondering for a while whether this change was reverted or not because of the last line in GC's post:
Due to recalibrating expertise for Cataclysm, level 80-83 creatures (which includes bosses) dodge and parry less, so you need less expertise, 23, to be exact. Sorry we didn't announce this. I would classify it as an unintended consequence (though not unknown) and not a desired change on our part.

At level 85, you will need 26 again.
I guess I'm gonna have to do some testing :(

Continuing a bit off-topic here (and sorry for the double post) but I just tested the 23 expertise vs Sapphiron for ~15mins, in which time 4 of my auto-attacks were dodged: World of Logs - Real Time Raid Analysis

What is the overall % of dodges? If it's 0.75%, we naturally want 26 expertise. Bearing in mind that it's quite possible during some stat changes between level 80 and 85, that expertise change will have returned itself to the usual, 26 expertise.

4 dodged attacks over 15 mins is not bad, not good at maths ATM but that seems like it'd be less than .75%. I looked at wol, and I'm not too familiar with it, but I didn't notice anywhere it specified your melee (or specials) being dodged...it does look like you're just shy of the hit cap tho, are you positive they were dodges?

Aye if you mouse over the damage done of the Melee row, a pie chart should pop up showing 1.4% dodges. You can also horizontal scroll to the end where there's a "Do" column under the Misses section.

Are you thinking maybe the expertise cap is somewhere between 23 and 26? Is the auto-attack and specials expertise cap always the same?

Well, 1.4% is a little high for just dodges, but then again you're not using a big enough set of data. Yes the cap for expertise is the same, no matter what it is, specials or otherwise. I'm still of the mind that 26 expertise is the cap, especially given your data. Pity there aren't any level 88 dummies to hit, otherwise we'd know fairly easily.

well even if there was one dodge that means the cap isnt 23 anymore sadly (barring any strange mechanics or glitches)...but a larger data set would be nice
it was still a very small amount of dodges for attacks landed, and since cats arent gcd bound + bears dont really need hit/exp, its ok. but other classes will want to know
