You can get 15 valor points per day. 100 days for 2x upgrade.

Because the weapon is far more of a buff. Professions don't give that much in the long run.

You don't seem to have gotten the point. How much you care about your twink is reflected in the finishing touches. Especially if you have a toon that you have put extra time or money or gold into, why wouldn't you make the extra little efforts to polish it off to be as BiS as possible. Leaving proffs empty just seemed odd. Its like seeing empty gem slots, or even empty gear slots.

I'm definitely getting this beauty when it shows up. I want to accrue the valor points in the meantime, but how?

Edit: Did some research. The 3 fishing dailies from fishing up the quest items Flying Tiger Gourami, Mimic Octupus and Spinefish Alpha reward 5 valor each and can be started at level 85.

Had not yet considered we might be able to enter MSV, though I don't think it's possible.
There was an exploit to make 85's able to do scenario's, not sure if we could gain any VP with this.
Or you can always try to fool a GM by restoring VP on a character with a slightly different name. (Buying an item, accidentily deleting it, and hoping to have it restored on a different char)

80s can get in, so 85s can too. Just have an 85 raid boost you for 40 vp/boss. 6*40 = 240 per week, you'll be done in no time.

Don't speak of this! But it's always a possibility or they nerf the stats on it.

Just tested this out, you can not enter MSV below level 90 either in a raid, or solo.

As I said, I tested this. I tried entering, but it said you must be level 90 to enter. I tried in a raid, and solo.
So unless there's an exploit, you can't enter.
