To the 19twinks,
I wanted all twinksin the community to be aware that people are still trying to hack twink accounts. Today I was approached by someone on Real ID by the name of "Nether". He started out by saying that he knew me from playing WSG together and asked if I wanted to play with him on Horde. After spending a couple of minutes chatting he offered to pay for my paladin to transfer over to Bleeding Hollow.
This person then mentioned that he was a good friend of Pizza's best friend and that he could get us into WT no problem. He even told me he would pay for my transfer so I humored him to see what he had to say. He kept saying he could set up a credit card with money on it and i could ues it to transfer, but it had a time limit on it and that he was going to transfer too and wanted to do it at the same time. After telling him I needed more time he kept pushing and I figured it was some sort of scam. I finally left it at if you want to play together log on and lets play. He said ok and then he logged off.
After the guy logged I recieved a whisper from a guy named Blizzerror who was claiming to be a GM telling me he had flagged our converstation with this Nether#???? (forgot the number sorry) and that it was an unsafe conversation and that he needed more information. He kept telling me to click the blue box as you NORMALLY would do with a real GM, but the blue box wouldn't come up he said they were having some technical issues and would check on it. After about waiting 2 minutes he asked for me to type in some code like /reload and a string of numbers like 20292992 or something and at that point i realized it was the same guy, but acting as a GM. So, ignored him. After about 2minutes he came back on as the same guy saying dont Ignore me again and that I need to cooperate with Blizz to track this guy down. Some how he unignored himself from me not quite sure how he did that??? He then started saying that this conversation was flagged because this Nether person we believe has some of my personal information and that we need to investigate so of course he asks for my secret questions, full name, and email address attached to the account.
I told him to go F*ck himself and ignored him again. He again, came back after I ignored him saying that this is my final warning not to ignore him or that he will be lock my account for secruity measures and that I would need to send in personal ID to get it unlocked. So, I did it again and recieved a message telling me that my account is now under investigation and it will be locked later tonight and that I would need to call blizzard at their number, which he listed for further instructions. He kept saying Blizz mailed me an email asking me if I recieved it. (There was no email)
Anyways, long story short please beware of some random guy adding you to Real ID and wanting him to pay for anything. Also, if you are contacted by a blizz GM and you dont see a blue window pop-up stop talking to them and report him. Never type in any codes that might be asked and NEVER give your Secret Question, Email or any other information because BLIZZARD WILL NEVER ASK YOU FOR THIS!
Thanks for reading sorry it was long, but I just wanted to make sure everyone in this community knows better than to fall for something like this.
Sincerely,
Williams.
