Best warlock spec and important stats

For a F2P warlock, in my opinion, I would spec affliction. Stack as much intel as you can get, level enchanting to enchant your gear, leatherworking for armor kits, tailoring and enchanting (disenchant what you make in tailoring for mats, and make a TON of wizard oil and store it) and finally, herbing and alchemy. Due to changes in profession perks, gathering profs no longer give any benefit. Alchemy will let you use potions.

Now here is why I say affliction. F2P will literally get face rolled into the dirt vs a paid account level 29. So you want to dot and run. I'm not commenting on how good a player you are, just the sheer fact of stats a paid account can stack is astronomical vs a F2P.

Hope this helps.

While most people don't know if it's bugged or what, the scaling is actually GOOD for f2ps. We're getting a crapload of stats, and playing on equal footing with 29s, so no reason to play scared for now.

What is your average dps at level 20? Just for comparison sake. Now I am curious about the stat scaling.
Just send via pm if you wish. I'll send you mine pm. I know dps isn't "everything" but it is important when you need to "close the deal" and drop that op owl. lol.

I don't play locks, nor i was able to get into a bg within these days pos-patch. Go to the Tier Thread, and post your doubts there. Most f2ps are rerolling feral, ret paladins, warriors and maybe locks. Like i said, with stat squish, f2p are pretty much on equal footing cuz scaling.

Go to the thread. You'll find good info there.

Locks all around are good no matter what spec you play. I think Demo is more FOTM atm because of the mobility, aoe slow, aoe burst, extra survivability, etc etc.

Demo or Destro. If you're in a giant group fight type of thing where you know you'll get to cast a lot go Destro (ie: AV, a premade etc.). If you don't have that go Demo. Demo does good damage in bursts, but the immolate spreading / raw damage of destro is a little higher I think.

Also via Skype apparently not everyone knows this - you can control Seduce now

What's the prevailing opinion on Int vs Crit for Demo Locks? In general it seems like Int is preferable, but Demo does have a couple of abilities that synergize well with Crit, namely Soul Fire and Doom. Is the trade off worth it?

I'm inclined to say that Int is still superior, but I'd be interested in what veterans think.

Again, i'm not the best opinion around but from the top of my head, Soul Fire was forgotten by locks. It was a bad scaled Pyroblast, that you coulda cast 2 shadowbolts in the same cast time, and the damage wasn't that great. That's why it was rare for people to not even place it on bars.

But like garrosh said: "Times change..."

I would like to know how is the lock itemization, specially the Affli one.

Demo has a mechanic called molten core which lets you get charges of 1/2 cast-time Soul Fires. So they are faster than a Shadow Bolt if you have a charge. It seems like part of the fun/complexity of the demo lock could be managing your charges, but it seems like you might need to stack a bit of crit for the damage to be respectable. With my incredibly undergeared demo, SF hits for about a 3rd more than SB, so it is already a DPS boost if you have a charge. I don't know how well it scales with Crit gear though to make it worth focusing on.

I wouldnt really roll crit right now, even though it works, i'd rather go play it safe with int/haste. Considering most of your output is dot based. As demo and affli that is.

But in the end it comes to personal preference after all i suppose.
