For real though, Trolls are prolly best for wargames and Goblin for pugs.

Troll racial is very relevant as a mini-selflust which helps getting those kills in midfights. Which is honestly mostly what you do as a mage, midfight.

Goblin jump is very relevant in pugs as a gapcloser/gapwidener, and you can do cute things like Blink->Frost Nova->Goblin Jump away on prio targets or even Poly over Nova on a healer.

Panda is definitely underrated though, the sap is pretty neat as another CC option. Belf is... meh? They look nice atleast, but the PWS-removal is hardly impressive and the managain from Torrent I don't think is enough to chain another Missile. Orc is okay, the racial is a decent buff. Nightborne gives you an AoE snare, but they look like heroin addicts so I wouldn't play them ever. Zandalari Troll is broken as fuck.

Just curious. Before I leveled my mage out, you would want a certain amount of haste for sheep cast times and missles, but I was always weary of going haste with how well crit and vers worked. If troll racial was decent, I feel like that might help a lot. But would need to be like 15-20% for a decent amount of time I’d imagine to be decent. Doesn’t sound like that’s the case

I am 14k of 21k to being exalted and getting zandalri trolls. But I don't know if I can pay for this trash can BFA game long enough to wait around finishing rep with just world quests :d

Well, for wargames you aim to minmax the most relevant stats (Primary, Stam, Vers with usually Haste) and ignore the others. Arcane is a spec that much prefer Haste because, as you said, Poly cast times are important. But Haste is also a passive, non-flashy DPS increase as well which is what you want in midfights. Arcane is steady pressure, other specs are the "big damage" specs (Boomkin, MM, Ele Sham), so crit loses a bit relevance in such.

Though, this is all in the current.

Ah. Not terrible but I can see how other races would shine. Just wondering if this racial could be used for some midfield wargames moments where it’s crucial that you get your sheep off before the other mage.
