Best in Slot List for 85's - Professions - Mount and Reputation Farming

Nesyla

Legend
Greetings, it seem as the demand for such a guide has been quite high lately and i have therefore decided to open a thread, nonetheless i do not have the knowledge to put up a list for every single spec, which is why at the bottom of my thread i will be adding a list of those who will contribute to this " guide ".

As it will be a guide done by twinks, for twinks. A way to encourage new players on joining the bracket and experiencing our life style.

You are welcome to partecipate in building the list and adding comments, suggestions, specific class details such as breakpoints, spreadsheet and so on ( Yes Chris i'm talking about you )

Be sure that the reforging and gemming is the best avaible when proposing a chardev / armory.

Let's start right away.

-----------------------------------------

Professions

Jewelcrafting : with this profession you will gain access to 2 mists of pandaria gems ( improved gems, list is here ) and 3 cataclysm improved gems ( click here for a list ). Please note that to learn all of the recipes you will have to visit the profession trainer in mists of pandaria, her name is Mai the Jade Shaper and you will find her in the Jade Forrest.

Leatherworking : with this profession you will gain a bracer enchant that adds 500 points to one of the following stats : Agility, Stamina, Intellect, Streght, this will prevent from using a non leatherworking enchant ( you cant have a normal enchant in addition to the profession one )

Mining : with this profession you will gain 480 stamina, which should result into 7560 hp for tanks and 6720 for everyone else.

Skinning : with this profession you will gain 480 crit strike as passive buff.

Tailoring : with this profession you gain access to 3 cloak enchants which give you either a chance to increase your Spirit - by 3000 for 15 sec when you cast a spell, a chance to increase your Intellect by 2000 for 15 sec when casting a spell. While melee will have a chance for damaging melee and ranged attacks to sometimes increase your attack power by 4000 for 15 sec.

Alchemy : with this profession you gain two major benefits, one being a trinket ( who is on most chardevs as it's considered best in slot, click ) and a flask who grants 80 points to : intellect, agility or Streght. If you use the flask in a battleground it will instead grant 320 points ( quick tip for arenas etc. Enter a bg, use it, get out and enjoy two hours of 320 )

Blacksmithing : With this profession you gain the access to add a socket to your bracers and gloves, which means that you can add a mists of pandaria gem in those sockets, great combination with jewelcrafting.

Enchanting : with this profession you gain the access to several ring enchants, they will add 160 points to either streght, agility, intellect or stamina. You can of course enchant both rings.

Engineering : this is mostly a " fun " profession and the benefits are lower than the previous professions, nonetheless you do get to acess Jeeves and Blingtron 4000. As well as Wormhole Generator: Pandaria ( this will teleport you randomly in mists of pandaria ). While the following enchants will be as well avaible.

Hand enchants.

Incendiary Fireworks Launcher: Permanently attaches a mounted fireworks launcher to your gloves, allowing a skilled engineer to deal (35 * 7) Fire damage over 3 sec to an enemy at long range. The launcher can only be fired once every 45 sec.Phase Fingers: Permanently attaches lightweight transfluxers onto gloves, allowing you to partially phase and increase dodge by 20520 for 10 sec. Gloves can only be activated once every minute.Synapse Springs: Permanently attaches synapse springs to your gloves, allowing you to increase your highest primary statistic by 1920 for 10 sec. The gloves can be activated every minute.

Belt Enchant

Watergliding Jets: Permanently attaches waterjets to your belt, allowing you to walk on water and swim quickly for up to 6 sec.

Cloak Enchant ( this is one of the best items i think blizzard has ever done and personally i love it, but it has no real big use )

Goblin Glider: Permanently attaches a specialized folding assembly to a cloak, allowing you to deploy a goblin glider and fall slowly for 30 sec. The glider has some initial thrust and allows you to turn while falling.

Herbalism : with this profession you gain Lifeblood, which grants 2880 haste for 20 sec. Can be used while stealthed or invisible.

Inscription : with this one you get 4 special shoulder enchants, here is a list of them :

Secret Crane Wing Inscription: Permanently adds 520 Intellect and 100 critical strike to a shoulder slot item.Secret Ox Horn Inscription: Permanently adds 750 Stamina and 150 Dodge to a shoulder slot item.Secret Tiger Claw Inscription: Permanently adds 520 Agility and 100 critical strike to a shoulder slot item.Secret Tiger Fang Inscription: Permanently adds 520 Strength and 100 critical strike to a shoulder slot item.

That is it for the professions benefits.

-----------------------------------------

Now something i would like to add is that some professions to actually make gold or profit or even for personal use do require some recipes, most are avaible from the trainer while some are from reputations.

There are 4 reputation that can be farmed thru reputation tokens and all have some some very interesting enchants or recipes. The tokens are dropped from Zandalari Warbringer. There are 4 of them in 4 specific zones: Dread Wastes, Kun-Lai Summit, The Jade Forest and Townlong Steppes. The best way to kill farm them is to have a friend on a very low population realm real ID invite you so that you cross zone into his realm.

They have as well a chance of dropping one of the 3 Direhorn mounts.

The Zandalari are not soloable and since you can not fly in mists of pandaria you will prolly want a friend with a two seat mount to carry you around.

Now the reputation tokens are the following four

As you can see we have four different mists of pandaria factions, the good part is that once you reach revered you can get 4 items from the quartermaster

Once you get to revered, getting to exalted takes nearly no time. Revered is also the reputation needed for the enchants and recipes, while for the tabards you do need exalted.

Sadly most of the mounts require lvl 90 to be learned, the only one that can be gained is the Reins of the Amber Scorpion from the Klaxxi.

Now getting back to the recipes here is what you can get for Enchanting from both the August Celestials and the Shado-Pan

While for Leatherworking we have the Golden Lotus

And than we have Tailoring with both the Golden Lotus and The August Celestials

And to end with we have Blacksmith with The Klaxxi

That should cover the reputation, recipe and mount part.

It's extremely late tonight so ill leave it here to finish tomorrow, been already 5 hours and i'm really tired. Nonetheless if you want to start sharing oppinions, pointing out stuff or providing best in slot chardevs that would be great, just make sure it's bis, reforging as well. I will be adding out reforging, stat priorities and breakpoints later today / tomorrow.

Kind Regards,

- Nesy

ps. hope you like it !

Ya might want to wait till 5.4 to do something like this. Not to mention most people will disagree on what's best for what.

Good luck.

heres what ive been using for balance pve just to start the convo i guess. im sure its not the perfect set up or even stat weight...but i just love watching haste go almost 100% so much - 95% with trinket, windsong and natures grace (almost 51% with just NG, which is always up, almost 82% with NG + trinket proc & 65% with windsong+NG alone). still got 34% crit and just shy of 55% mastery too. and yes it is hit capped cuz i play with crystal of insanity up in raids.
oh and very manly legs seem nonexistant on my backwater server. i also have a signet of binding wall but wondering if i should just sell it as compared to my ornate feverflare band it boils down to (before reforging) having 213 mastery/haste for 274 crit, seeing as how the 88 stam means nothing to me in pve, the 59 int seems negligible, and the spirit would be wasted since im capped.. just not sure how thats worth it (at least in my current gear set up), would love to see the theorycraft/math tho

im gonna wait untill 5.4 and then brew up some warr chardevs.. Nesyla there shuld be arena and bg bis sets for pvp (will make all warr sets for 5.4) maby even a world pvp bis set (stacking hit)
so far the post looks awsome great work, keep it up! =P

If you want a head start on gear, just do what all of us have been doing.

In general you want the highest ilvl for each slot, there's pretty much no point aiming for armour set bonuses (5% primary stats) as you gain more from the higher ilvl.

For slots that come closer to DS HC ilvls you need to plug in the gear and account for any set bonuses on those pieces into something like wowhead and see what comes out ahead, I'd suggest using level 90's stat weights as any level 85 weights are WAY out of date by now.

Once you have a set of gear, download the latest version of simcraft and start doing some sims. Using the reforging tools in simcraft will help you choose better secondaries and you might even be able to pick better gear because of this. Losing a few ilvls and primaries might be worth getting better value secondaries for PvE at least.

You also want to make sure you pay attention to the way the dps is distributed over the fight, for example you could have 150k burst dps and it might sit at around 120k dps for the rest of the fight, that might be fine for PvE, but say you reforge and then you do 180k burst dps and only 100 - 110k dps for the rest of the fight, that reforge might be a lot better for PvP.

Other obviously important things for PvP are ilvl because of stamina, I wouldn't downgrade ilvls on PvP gear just because you need as much as you can get because of the absolutely horrible 40% resilience we get.

What is BiS 85 warr?
pve is pretty easy to figure out
for bg´s you want close to pve gear but with a pvp trink o.0
for arena you wanna stack as mutch stam as posible.. 2set cata is not worth it at all.
gonna make some profiles when something propper comes up other than chardev..
gonna log in dps gear so you can have a look at that if needed.

EDIT: just realised now that my dps gear is nowhere near up to date.. my rena set is allso not looking finished yet but i decided to log in that instead.
