In short, if you don't have a GF'd carrion bird...
Get a mechanical for 8% movespeed and it can't be sapped. Usually in mid as MM you'll go lone wolf. The other pet slot is up to you. Neither stands out for competitive play really. For PuGs the 5% health (and 20% dmg reduction active) is probably what I'd go with in case you end up holding the flag.
