Battleground Class Count Addon

Is there anyone out there that has experience making addons?



I was hoping if someone could try designing an addon that can tallie up how many classes are in each battleground for each different battle group(10-14, 15-19, etc etc)



What I mean is something similar to this:

But instead it'll be an actual addon that can tallie up its information onto a site that will keep track of the class variety of each Bracket.



This would give each bracket a pretty good idea of which classes are being over played and under played.





The main purpose of this would be for people who are interested in a bracket. They could go to the website that uploads all the information from people who have this addon and shows exactly which class is overplayed and which class needs to be played more. This way newer people can take a look and be like:



"Oh; so warlocks are being under played. I'll go roll that class!"



or



"Hunters are being way over played, i better not roll that class".



Not sure if this is even possible, but I really think this would be helpful in a lot of ways. And it could even be used to show blizzard that class stacking is an issue and should look into:



1. Why are "these" classes being over played

2. Why are "these" classes being under played

3. How can we fix this so that each class is more at an equal.

Wow, I was thinking about this same thing last night. I haven't come across any addons that store data about battleground games.



I have no experience making addons but I can code. I was going to try my hand at making something to record info about the players I encounter in bgs. I want to start collecting name, realm, race, class, spec and health (which is a decent gauge for how twinked you are), and then expand to include their gear, if they change gear sets, if they afk out (this), damage/healing totals at end of game, and whatever else I can think of. I don't have the funds to get all that info onto a website though.



I'm going to get started learning how to code addons and I'll report back with my progress. Don't expect much from me alone.

Wouldn't be too difficult to take screenshots at the end of your bg and then tally them up would it?

No it wouldn't. the purpose of this is to keep it up-to-date. Lets say I played 50 games of WSG in 3 days and tallied up the class-ratio. Who's to say that will be the same exact class-ratio in a month?

There was a 29 named Meed who undertook a huge data mining project awhile back. I don't think he's around anymore.
