Balance of Bracket

After 3.2 hits the queue times for 29 are going to be devastating. A big reason many twinkx do not join up in the 29 bracket is because of the lol ezmode huntard. Since blizzard separated twinkx from the generally bad population they obviously now at least pay attention to us. I think they should do something about huntards because 29 will die for the most part other than larger guilds. Other than making a huntard there is no reason for somebody to make a 29 and jump in solo for fun. If huntards are knocked down I believe the bracket would explode in activity. I love the 29 bracket and would not like to see its future dictated by one class.

I want to see how many people support this so blizzard may catch this out of the corner of their eye. /agree if you want

If you disagree for some reason include serious reason.

the bracket wont die, too easy to make a lv 29 twink. yes hunters are OP. nerf aim shot and make DoTs daze them outa cheeta. at least some of them are nice enough to not spec aim shot.

I think more hunters should make thier own decison to not spec aim shot. i dont play my wifes 19 hunter cuz its to easy so no fun. you'd think these hunters at 29 would get bored.

Again, Blizzard made the game for *endgame* not twinks. They gave twinks a few perks like those "twink" NPCs but thats about it. And yes, Hunters are horribly OP. If there are no other twink hunters in the BG, you can top damage NAKED and without using Aimed Shot. My pet is like a godamned elite for non-twinks with its 2k HP and the DPS that it dishes out.

I think it will depend on the battlegroup just like all the other brackets, if it will die out or not.

I was never a big fan of 20 minute wsg or aimed shot, either way I would be glad to see both go.

Althought I still believe people exaggerate the power of a hunter in the 29 bracket, while they are def tops, they aren't unkillable gods. I have had just about every class twinked in the 29 bracket at one point or another, and the only problem I ever had with them was on my 29 mage.

Could always be worse, could be warlocks at 39. Two dots, tab, two dots, tab, two dots, he just killed 3 people, and has top dps and heals both. Took alot of skill.... But yeah huntards are op at most any bracket, they are nasty at 39 too. Not much you can do. Its one reason i dont do 19 or 29, other than the very limited things you can do at those brackets (and no AB at 19), they are just so overflowing with huntards its not any fun at all. And its very repetative.

It's not that they are unkillable gods it's simply that a good one is *nearly* unkillable and they are also pretty much impossible to get away from. This means that instead of having some control over the situation by choosing to stand and fight them, or simply avoid fighting by using some CC and running away you now have no choice in the matter and the outcome is highly likely to be your death. Taking choice away from people is a sure fire way to make them angry and frustrated.

As I'm sure you're well aware angry and frustrated players do not make for fun teammates or opponents and often they just stop queueing which will likely result in even longer queues at which point players stop logging in to their twinks as they can never get a queue to pop.

In addition to the loss of control issue most players are under the illusion that a 1v1 should be "fair" and as a result the sort of thing that's decided by skill and skill alone. Blizzard has stated in the past that they don't balance 1v1 but regardless of that one can see why players would expect it to be at least somewhat close to "fair" but that's manifestly untrue with hunters even more so than with other OP classes. The players that are expecting it to be "fair" can be made very angry and very frustrated when those realities are demonstrated to them by backpedaling hunters in cheetah and that often leads to the creation of more hunter twinks or more players that simply stop queueing.

Getting back to the question of balance of bracket I'd say the single most important thing isn't hunter or no hunter it's faction specific players in a particular bracket. WoW is for me something like a pick up game you might play in the evenings. In an ideal world you want a fairly large pool of players that are around the same time as you and of a similar experience and skill level. You balance the teams for each game to make sure it's both competitive and "fresh" so it's not the same 2 groups every time, executing the same strategy. For many of use we only have a horde or an alliance in a given bracket and we don't communicate before the games to set up balanced games. The result of this is wildly unbalanced games most of the time and even when they are balanced with premades it's the same 10 every time, or close to it.

There's at least two things we can do that should help:

1. Provide a way to persistently self-fund alternate faction twinks for every twink in a given bracket.

2. Provide a communication medium that lets us organize games among players of differing factions and realms in advance of actually queueing for those games.

It's unlikely that Blizzard is going to do anything to help us in this regard but we're working on both issues and I'm planning on posting something about it on the front page in the future.

In the newest Q/A, Blizzard has said they desire to try and implement a change which will balance teams, I wonder how that will turn out.

Development Team: We are experimenting with many different ways of improving the Battleground queuing system so teams aren’t so lopsided when a game begins. This is something we’re working on at the moment and we look forward to sharing additional details in the near future.

Although this talks about ensuring that teams don't start with un-even numbers and not various people per each game, its better than not starting a game at all I suppose.
