Balance Druid?

There's a major problem with Balance at 10, cast time. No matter how much haste you stack it takes forever to cast Starfire. Now, with enough crit and SP you will crit for 5-600 with Starfire and Starsurge (used on insta proc). However in between those huge crits your overall damage is meh and survivability is meh also. That's why I'm changing mine to be similar to Healstrong's where I took the 1 pt in Feral for the +15% movement speed and I'm mixing feral/balance gear for improved crit/hp to do sort of dance between FC and off-healing/off-dps. Another issue is outside of BOA you won't find many leather pcs with stam/int so you have to go cloth in most cases which further lowers your survivability.
 
feral with a balanced build of it and stam works well. when needed you can kite, just entangle roots, run a few yards as cat, pop out and starfire or whatever, your healing remains rather effective and you can go to cat and do some good dps when thorns is up. the only problem is that for this to be effective you must use the BoA mace 2h with 20haste, which lowers your melee crit and resilience. however you'll find you heal better / faster, and kite a lot more effectively. thanks for the mention DeLindsay <3
 
i personally dont think this mix works very well in duels at least because 10s zerg pretty fast and unless ur specced for it u probably wont be able to outheal a geared dps and if ur mixed u wont hav the capacity to kill the healers fast enough.



The mix is more for FC. If you're pure Balance you won't kill healers at all unless you sneak up on them due to retardedly long cast times. You also won't be able to outheal a geared DPS as pure Balance either (though it'd be close). The biggest reason to go mix is options. You gain +15% movement speed in Kitty, retain a decent mana pool and spell power for off-healing/off-dps, while having pretty a pretty decent HP pool as well. The BOA Mace with counterweight gives you the viability to cast spells like roots to get away from opponents.
 
i have 1v1ed some of the best 10 druids on my hunter, and straight balance will never beat a pure dps toon because we will just dance around your cast times, however a hybrid or a feral can at least hold their own against most other 10s.



im sure in wsg balance could have its moments of fun because of the big crits, but if thats what you are into make a mage, cause they are the only ones who crit huge without sacrificing mobility. Hunters in MM can crit 600+ but who wants to stand around with that cast time.
