EU+US Azshara High Level Transmog

After seeing @zazzyfraz and @Coliz talking about this briefly in the F2P picture thread, I knew I had to get out there. So big shoutout to them both!

I've been farming the rares for a few days now and wanted to get this info out there. There's a few things to note:

Scalebeard, the turtle doesn't drop this gear, at least I haven't seen any drop yet. He only drops level 20-ish gear and it doesn't seem like his gear scales funnily enough.

This leads me to believe that this is a bug. The only thing I can think is that this is due to Azshara being an old level 60 zone and them messing around with zone scaling and stuff. This might get fixed so get your transmog now.

This is far from an exhaustive list. I am still finding new items almost everyday.

Thanks for this! I've known about odd drops from The Evalcharr for months, but didn't want to commit my scant time to investigating the zone when there's so many other activities with "priority" these days...

Getting a more-complete idea about what's involved/possible is very much appreciated!

Sounds like another "unscaled" NPC... not uncommon among Rares that have been around since Vanilla (you see it often in Hillsbrad Foothills, for example).

Heh... that's the exact map that I've had sitting on my damn desktop since March; silently mocking me and my limited free time. Glad to see someone actually "making use of it" in my stead!

I was hoping so too but the scaling isn't quite in line with how the known upgradable items scale. Those seem to scale with ilvl & rlvl matching the character level when dropped off rares while the Azshara rares are getting an ilvl of 1 below character level and the rlvl of 16. Like here is a green boulder pad on my 19 priest

That's all true... but I wasn't talking about "Epic Upgrades", I was talking about "Innately-Epic World Drops".

For example: NPCs found around the Burning Steppes drop most of the items that @Rhaellia listed... so it's not unreasonable to assume they're drawing-from a somewhat similar loot-table:



...and they also have a (tiny) chance to cough-up a coveted "World Drop":



Now it's obviously too-soon-to-tell if the bugged loot-tables in Azshara are actually capable of dropping all of the same items, but we won't know until we try (and try... and try... and try... and...)!

For sure, there seems to be a lot to do all of a sudden, rather annoying! Ive been juggling this, fishing and getting to exalted with the Tol Barad faction.

I'm honestly just happy to pass it along and share. I know there has to be some other people out there who would love to have some of these transmog options.

Yeah but that combined with the others dropping the high level transmog screams bug to me. I don't know of another example (yet). Hoping to get around to checking other zones soon though!

This has definitely crossed my mind. I think it is doubtful that we will see a blue let alone an epic drop but it will be interesting to see. Awhile back I farmed Wetlands with my 111 Brewmaster with a 20 in group. No blues dropped but high level got an insane amount of blues. It seems like maybe they're bugged. Same with the weapons in Azshara.

Thanks for the info! I've been casually farming Araga for a few days. She appears to be the only rare in Hillsbrad that drops high level mog. Though, I haven't been able to confirm Scargill.

That would be pretty cool... while I suspect that many of us simply want ALL THE MOGS™, some folks would surely appreciate "seeing" the possible appearances before committing to the hunt.
