Hey. Just joined these forums, but I've been twinking on and off since 2006. Just wondering with the current state of twinking. I've heard that Ruin is the current "spot-to-be" if you're a 19 twink, but does this go for Australian players too? Considering the time difference, I don't want to transfer only to find that there are no matches going on either!

If you australian players are on US servers then Ruin is the place to be. If you Oz people arent on US realms then i have no idea

Well afaik Ruin is the only battlegroup you will get any games on, the others are pretty dead im led to believe. You might get the odd arena but not much. I dont know what its like over the pond at off peak times.
 
Yep, Ruin is the only BG that you will consistently/ EVER get no exp BG pops,



I am from australia , I recently xferred my twink and main to Ruin and love it.

Keep in mind though, depending on where you live in australia ( I'm in NSW) the Peak times for games is between 10am-6pm during that time there is USUALLY 2 or more games playing, sometimes up to 4 or 5, after that though it dies off to 1 game running until players from other countries log on again.



So it works well if you dont have a full time job/ go to school . I finished school, and work nights , so it works out nicely for me :)
 
Sweet. Sounds promising. I'll probably transfer my paladin over once I finish gearing him. Any Alliance guild lists?

I live in Japan, but the time difference between Australia and Japan isn't that big (maybe a an hour-3 hours) and same goes for me, I've finished school and work at nights as well.



If you want to play at maximum peak time, it would probably range from 1pm-3pm for nearly 4-5 games going at any one time.



Minimum peak time would be like like Resto stated, 10am-6pm, with the number of games increasing as the time nears 1-3pm, and decreasing as it reaches 6pm.



Just get your times worked out and it should be good. If you're still going to school though, weekends will probably be your best bet. Also, if you're not already equipped with Fishing Hat, then you might want to try and get it before you transfer, because the times you would have to fish at are very odd;

I live in Adelaide, South Australia. Ruin is the place to be, and the time difference isn't as bad as it seems. Mannoroth, a reroll server with an excellent 19's twink guild "Fishin Buddies" is 15.5 hours behind Adelaide time. So, if I can get on WoW at about 11am my time, I can catch the peak hours with ease.

Well, Australia is GMT+9/10 I think so at the time of this post it's like 3-4 am there. So to get the real peak of games in Blackout EU they'd either have to play as soon as they got up, or if they don't work/ go to school they might catch some games. So US is better really for Australian twinks to get games, although far from perfect times.
 
im in brisbane, and getting fishing hat for me on medivh starts at like 4 am. im 14 hours ahead of the server. im also 9 hours ahead of germany, where i happen to have family, which would be most of the eu as well. Being australian sucks for fishing hat, not so good for games, great for agm. I got to the chest 15 minutes late in off time, and still got the loot :D Iirc, the guild bloodlust represent is mostly australian.
 
Probably going to contact a few guilds and transfer my paladin over soon, just got the fishing hat today on the my first try within 20mins. Talk about luck.. and builtokill I used to play on Medivh as my home server, back in 2006. Trinket was easy to get, I never bothered with the fishing hat though, couldn't be bothered waking up at 4am.
