Attack Power for Hunters

I farmed some draenei crystals that offer 3 extra Attack Powers for my MM hunter. However, I didn't see any increased damage (at least in the tooltips) after i had used them. What is the meaning of Attack Power for hunter? When playing mage/caster, after using crystals that offer extra int, the tooltips do show extra damage. Does that mean hunters cannot benefit from these crystals?

I just noticed that also last night. I'm almost certain it used to give Hunters AP, but now it doesn't seem to.
The Stam Crystal works though on my Hunter.
I didn't try in Surv though.

Afaik AtkpPwr chants still function completely normally.

Can confirm it is indeed only melee AP.
Works on Hunters only in Surv Spec.
