You just said no, and then wrote a detailed explanation about how it was right. What you said in the first part only applies to autoattacks, strength does not increase weapon dps, just autoattack dps.

I'll try to simplify it a bit.

Autoattacks: 14 AP will increase weapon dps by 1. (This is not normalized)
Weapon Damage Attacks: increased by 0.236*(AttackPower)

If an attack does 100% weapon damage and has no AP effect, it would hit for 100% all the time.

However, AP does affect weapon damage. Instead of 100%, it is (0.236)*AP*100% Weapon Damage. If you have 100 AP, your weapon damage is 2360% Weapon Damage up from 100% Weapon Damage. (This is normalized)

In other words, you just increased your weapon damage by 23.6 times because of that attack power. Please note that you will not see that number increase in your tooltip, because the AP is being factored into the weapon damage rather than the percentage used.

tl;dr: AP affects both white damage and normalized abilities, but in different ways.
