EU+US Armor in bg's

Hi everyone!

I apologize if this has been answered before, but I've looked all over with no luck.

Does armor play a role in bg's?

For example, theoretically a warrior one might assume would need the Thorbia's Gauntlets. But, if armor doesn't matter, couldn't they use the Nimble Leather Gloves, which are leather but ilvl 24? Or does the armor play a role infact?

It doesn't appear to matter, other than shields. Shamans, warriors, etc. still benefit from Shields over the Lily offhand.

Unless you require a Shield for an Ability then just use the Lily. Armor values are absurdly low in iPvP right now and you gain more Versa with higher iLvL, making up the difference that Armor would be from the Shield.

I get 6% damage reduction from using a shield so I dought the 1% stats will beat that.

Only ilvl gear or gear with ilvl over your template 10-19 24 ilvl, stuff like Jutebraid's, gfd stuff does matter!

I get no stat gains going from ilvl 44 to 46. The shield giving me 5% damage reduction > 0 stats.
