EU+US Are you satisfied with PuGs in their current state?

I have noticed a large number of twinks that do not even bother queuing PuGs anymore.

In its current state you will be placed in games with other levelers, turning our once competitive PuGs into a more casual enviornment compared to what it used to be.

Some will argue that this change was necessary for our brackets survival, others will argue that this change was completely unnecessary and detrimental to our community.

Please voice your opinion and any other reasons for your choice in your response.

Keep in mind this poll is solely about matchmaking, not the fact that stats on gear do not matter. (Though I know most of you hate this).

I would have it be twinks vs twinks any day of the week, especially with the activity that's going on right now. I don't think you'll have that much trouble getting pops atm. (at least on EU)

You mention that this thread is not about gear templates OP, but it kind of is. 19s has changed a lot through the years. In BC twinks could 1v5 levelers, and I think the majority of us would not want to go back to that level of OPness, where the team with more twinks usually won.

If it was only toggled off xp players against each other, queues would be pretty spotty many hours of the day, which would in turn raise queue times at peak times.

I hate templates as much as the next guy, but it evens the field a significant amount and allows levelers to contribute. Games arnt perfect now, but queue times are very nice, with games popping close to all hours of the day.

The current state of pugs is good for newcomers. Very easy to enter and be good enough to play and have fun. If your queing a 5 man and go against another good 5 man you can have some pretty fun games. I'd like twinks vs twinks all the time. I think we have the activity to support it right now. I don't know if the activity would stick if it was xpoff only though. It would be much more intimidating for new people to join games. Right now you can be completely clueless of the meta, play games against levelers and have fun

Change BC for Legion and twinks for SV Hunters and thats were I feel we're at.

My experience of 19's pugs ( fairly limited ) is that the team that has a pre-made wins. I think my Horde 19's all have a WR of > 75%, and it's not down to skill on my part. The actual close Adrenalin pumping games are few and far between.

As for queue times, 40 sec queues at 110 or 10 plus minutes at 19 ......

exactly, if people are serious about wanting competitive games instead of crying about pugs, people should start making guilds of likeminded people and set up more guild v guild games, which would give an incentive to tournament organizers that the community is ready for a new cup

I see you have twinks in every single bracket, the fact that you have failed to see the competitiveness in 19s indicates that you are either clueless, or started in Legion.

Alot of people remember PuGs being twink v twink, and they were often very well fought matches compared to what we have right now.

I can't speak for people who don't want to wargame, but I would assume they either can't be on when wargames are forming, or simply have no desire to wargame at all, and prefer PuGs.

Nice contribution-- I would have to disagree about unmerging / keeping the merge being anything about the gear templates-- it's still very obvious who knows what they are doing and who doesn't, and therefor an underlying problem. I'd argue that unmerging levelers / twinks would improve the overall health of the bracket more than removing templates would.

The argument seems to boil down to this: Spotty queues and better games OR Good queues and games like we have now.

we have like 5 spells, that somehow (evident in pugs) half of the low level wow population doesnt understand, its not fun when more than half your team is missing gear, isnt over level 15 and doesnt have a clue of what objectives actually are
