Are we really going to be twinks next patch? + Question about BG scaling.

Hello

With the changes next patch when all our gems and enchants are going to be scaled to a TBC level, the only thing that will actually be good for us and (non pre wotlk) is the wotlk engineering trinkets, these changes are going to change the bracket more than MoP changed it at launch, the idea and the explanation around twinking is that, you get your character to level of power unable to be achieved by normal means and without going out of your way to do it.

My question about BG scaling is will our gems and enchants scale back up once we are lvl 74 in a bg?

alch flask does at 85 right now.. dont see why it shuldnt do the same with ench.. no idea tho, only the future will tell..
and wether or not you will still be a twink: "Twinks are below level cap player characters who have gained the best powerful gear for their level in every slot." ctrl+v and c'd from Twink - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft
it does not matter what lvl you are.. as long as you are not dinging and have (or trying to get) full bis you will allways be a twink.

For me the main thing that draws me to higher level twinking is that you can reach the top level in terms of gear progression, you get the best gear possible and then you're done, instead of having to do the grind over and over again with each new season.

Moreover, this also gives the possibility to really experiment and invest time in building different gear sets and playstyles, knowing that it won't all be a giant waste of time when the next season hits.

This whole idea of making your character super powerful and running around ganking ungeared noobs is a leftover from before, when you didn't get XP in BGs and there was no possibility to lock your XP gain in general.
Ideally twinking should not be about gaining (unfair & questionable) advantage, it is more about leveling the playing field and taking the gear issue out of the picture altogether, imho.

back on topic:

I guess we still have some field testing to do to see if the scaling from items will be higher then the stat loss of being higher level.

Will you be my friend? :3

OT: From what I've heard, in bgs our gems will not be scaled to tbc. On top of that, secondary stat gems might even get doubled. For PvE, world PvP, and Arenas, however, they'll be scaled. Well, on the arenas part I've heard the most mixed and confusing things...

As for the title question... yes of course we'll still be twinks. xP

currently a 70 has the best scaling in the bracket, a 74 has no scaling of gear.

when 5.4 rolls, 71 maybe be the way to go because you gain back all WOTLK gem/ench to full values, and at 71 gear is still scaled second best for the bracket
