I don't quite get peoples anger out of the 10 post to play, and 1 per day rule.



Its to prevent exactly what they are trying to do, log onto the website and play games while not utalizing the main aspect of its nature.



The video games are a side-fun activity when waiting to respond to others posts and what not.

What's wrong with wanting to play a game on the site? Why am I forced to go troll someone's post simply to play one game of space invaders while I'm taking a flight path somewhere? If anything the whole policy of needing to post to play a game for the day just encourages a watering down of the site with less then quality posts. The arcade doesn't measure the quality of post or the thought put into it. But hell if you feel we need more posts that say, "lol 10 characters" then I guess we need more of those. If you can't see why it's a dumb way to encourage folks to post then I don't know what to say.



Anyway, I encourage folks to just post in here if they feel like playing the arcade. At least the useless posts can be confined to one area.

yeah, as somebody who doesnt post in the 19 forums, sometimes there are gaps in information that I can really share with others. This forces me to either not play games or to post some garbage...both are crappy options.

I understand it is your job to enforce rules, but frankly it makes no sense. If my goal was to play online flash games I'd probably just go to some flash website. Instead it's fun to play them here and compete with familiar faces for high scores. It adds an element to the site that you really don't get with just forums. After all we are all twinks here who enjoy competition. What better way then to compete with each other then the arcade. However, the posting requirement just encourages poorly thought out posts, flames or, lol10character responses. You may not realize when someone makes a post like this to simply use the arcade, but I'd guarantee it happens.



As someone who has run websites and provided my own hosting I know that flash games aren't a huge resource hog, and so I don't really get the restriction. Personally it'd make more sense to have people post to watch videos then play a silly arcade game.



Either way I don't really care enough to contact Drayner personally. I think it is obvious from some responses in this thread that others have been affected by this rule. Anyway, it's such a trivial thing I'm amazed that the thread is this long. But I'll continue to encourage folks to post in this thread if they want to just play a game and need their post. I'll still be working on the Space Invaders high score.
