For those that are new to this bracket, watching this game for the first time etc. let me reiterate, the Alliance team did not play "badly." With that being said I'm seeing a lot of semi-excuses being thrown around as well. Let's be honest here - the Horde team dominated. The Horde team is STACKED with players that are ex-Glads, r1s and 2500+ players. It's not exactly the most fair match up ever. We didn't even have our full team. Goldendays was AWOL, and I was forced to play a level 20 Holy Paladin for the first time 10 minutes before the game started. Our rogue, who would have made sure we won 3-0, didn't even get in the match. I'll explain why in a little bit.
Look at the start of the match, Horde runs right into the middle. The Alliance team ends up sitting in front of their GY for the next 10-12 minutes. Our FC made it to our tunnel unhindered by the time the Alliance gets to pick up the Horde flag. The next 10 minutes, as previously mentioned, end up being played in front of the Alliance GY. At first the Horde get pushed back a bit, and we lose our warlock twice. After that, we push ahead and end up pushing the Alliance back into their tunnel. We end up decimating a warlock, two healers and a mage before finally downing the FC in the FR. Keep in mind, through this, the only thing we have on D is an ele shaman. We have no healers with our FC at all. That's how little pressure was going out. Why would our rogue have been important to this? We could have actually swapped to the FC. He was frequently out of range of his healers, or at the least in a position that would have led to him dying (that's not to say he wasn't fantastic, he was - we didn't kill him after all). We could have had Swag swap over to the FC, drop him to 800 HP and then one shot him with a rogue - he did not have RT or shields on him on CD. This would have been pretty simple.
MOREOVER, the Horde team had zero hunters. Look at the damage. Our DPS consisted of a warlock, mage, prot paladin, ELE SHAMAN and a really, really bad prot paladin. The Ele was frequently on D meaning our DPS consisted of lock, mage and prot paladin, more or less. It's pretty hard getting a kill with 3 DPS, even with a holy paladin assisting. The next time we play I (Biggie) am going to actually be on a hunter so we're going to have at least one person who can rock the DPS charts like their hunter did.
The second cap was also going to be ours, given we dropped their FC far before ours did (even though we only had ONE healer on D - who played like a champ, GJ Veinte). Moreover, if you watch the last 5 minutes you will notice that we pushed the Alliance team from the HORDE ramp to the HORDE flag room. It's not a close game if you go from being farmed at your GY to being farmed at the other team's base. The final cap wasn't even close. By the time the repick happened it was 1 minute left and I had the EFC HoJ'd on top of the Horde GY.
Final thoughts, not sure why people are so obsessed w/ being good etc. We played because we wanted a fun close game with no 24s. That's exactly what we got. This game was fun. The Horde team is very stacked, yes, but I highly doubt most of the Horde team will remain the same. Moreover, we did this on a Sunday. This is a perfect set up to have premades happen on a more regular basis. Take the time to make your own teams and set up your own games! This CAN happen!
TLDR; Alliance team played fine, but it was not as close as the scoreline would suggest. The way this bracket is healing wise you would be hardpressed to win any game against a half way decent team at a 3-0 margin. Hell, 5 24s premades frequently don't manage that against teams of just 20s. Unfortunately, with our rogue, I still think we would have had a 3-0.
