any purpose in rolling a rogue...?

I have a level 54 rogue sitting around. 69 seems like it would be too much trouble right now. But 59 is only a few levels away and takes minimal effort to properly gear. My question concerns whether a rogue is just a wasted spot in a bracket where DK's and Ret pallies reign supreme. It seems like the only classes that would exist are DK's, Paladins, and the classes which best handle them (mages, locks, and possibly priests).



Anyone have experience playing a rogue in the bracket and have any insight?

Pallies and DK's have heads that need to get bonked as well. Roll a rogue and run around wacking to ijit's in their craniums.

Come to think of it, most of the rare items (including raids) I've never seen drop



Rogue's are good in any bracket, they cause a nuisance all the time

i just got a felstriker yesterday i was jumping up and down, going for the ironfoe now.



my planned spec was hemo/sword spec with HoJ and battleworn thrash blade... it's insane how many extra attacks i get

lol. The procs instantly win. If you chainproc those 2 you can kill full twinks in one GCD. And Ironfoe procs MH attacks, so lol, Outland greens don't have shit on those 2.

Honestly, they're nice weapons, but I don't think they're the be-all-end-all of weapons. I'd like to see them action though. But you have to consider- what's the procrate(s), what're the chances of Felstriker procing when you need it (at least Ironfoe you don't have to worry about), etc.



Felstriker is only really worth it if you can actually get a couple backstabs/mutilates/whatever in during the proc, and even then it's not godly since they already have boosted critrates. The +hit bonus doesn't really matter since your white damage isn't your main source of damage as a dagger rogue, and getting a decent amount of +hit is pretty much required anyway if you don't want to end up manic-depressive. The damage is roughly equal to Horde quest options, with slightly higher DPS, but slightly faster and no stats;can't take Wrath 'chants.



Ironfoe has lower DPS than (again, Horde) quest options and again, no stats, but the proc is indeed nice (however, what's the procrate?) and always useful. However, you don't see many mace-rogues at 59; not sure why but they seem to know something.

Impressive logs, but what's the providence of them? I see no indicator of level 59(in fact, 1744 noncrit earthshock? I havn't played in 8 months, but that seems a bit high for a 59), and they are certainly NOT pre-BC (training dummies, maelstrom weapon are pre-Wrath as far as I recall).



Show me the character that this came from and I *might* believe you (armory search doesn't turn up a 59 shaman named "Runawaynow" in the US... there is, however, an *80* shaman with that name.)



The felstriker log looks like something an 80 would be recording with level 55 weapons(In fact, further investigation shows that that nifty little buff, "Reflection of Torment" in the felstriker log, is from an epic 80 trinket), and the target dummy logs are pulled from how many hours of recording? Against mobs you apparently can't miss and don't have any armor anyway?

hell lets say it would be around 4k from a 59 twink and you're telling me THAT along with normal hits wouldn't be able to kill anyone with 6-8k hp fairly quickly?

That's not my screenshot, but yea, apparently it is from a level 80. Wasn't paying attention to when this was posted. Either way, a 59 with these and fully twinked will do some serious damage in a single GCD if they chain proc. Get a nice crit chance and you might as well be screaming "I WIN" when the 2 proc.

I just joined the forum, after I saw this post. I have a descent 59 rogue. I just reactivated after a year gone about a month ago, so my rogue is preWotLK twinked. Now with DKs IT SUCKS. I can take them 1 v 1, but with a twink deathknight, he'll kill me unless I pot. If you get a healer to BG with(priest with salvation) you can pwn, but for solo gameplay, it is still as fun as a rogue is. Stealth around and kill anyone 1v1, then be dotted by 5 DKs that are playing ping pong with you and die. You can still take out casters before they know they are being attacked.



problems are afflic locks(deathcoil/fear), and the armor of DKs and Palls but they are still doable.

I was planning on getting my rings enchanted, then roll on the engineering for the helm and trinket, but I doubt it now after WotLK. DKs did ruin the bracket. 80% of 59s are now noob DKs.



If you wanted to put the G in a 59 twink I'd go Disc priest. Or even make a twink DK, that'd be easy, take no time just G.

I tried many specs pre WotLK and Mut is beast! Ill never spec anything else even tho I have higher dps swords/maces overall they dont do as much dmg as Mut.
