So I got curious and decided to make chardevs of BiS Shams (Imo) to answer the question LFH vs Eyepatch. This is also under the assumption that you plan on spell capping, if you don't, then take LFH hands down.

Eye Patch: chardev 9
LFH: chardev 9

The stat difference comes out to 1 Int and a 4% physical dmg reduction in favor of LFH but some added melee crit for the crutchpatch.

gold plated buckler? why not seedcloud buckler? the eyepatch build ends up with 4 more Int and 4 more spellpower than the LFH build, at the cost of 50 HP...

60 more mana as well. more thoughput, , more longevity.

also, Sentinel's Medallion is crap. Brilliant Necklace by a mile.

Gimme your wowhead comparison stat links Buckeye for how you get more int from eyepatch build. Thanks
 
As of now i would always go with Eyepatch just for the opportunity to also have a strong enhance build.

In the eyepatch build you can also think about Forest Buckler. You loose 30hp but max out spellpower and add some mana.

Also keep in mind MoP: As of now you get "Elemental Precision" @ level 10 which grants hit equal to spirit. Maybe we see
more spirit builds in MoP. Unfortunately we dont have the exact numbers yet.

honestly the melee AP/crit are more worth it than what you get from brilliant. if anything id go thick bronze but even then itd be 6 agi vs 1 stam
