Alchemy Trinket from Shattered Sun Rep

Going to do my best to break down this trinket, and how obtaining it has become a lot easier with the pre patch. This may be already known by most, but just throwing it out there for those who don’t.

Prior to the pre-patch, in order to obtain this trinket, you had to get Sha-tar reputation to revered. This was difficult as 69s did not have flying to reach tempest keep instances. The only way to get this rep was to open prison keys until the enough sha tar guys came out. This meant thousands of keys. Not just that, you couldn’t turn off XP. So you would have to wait dead at the prisons ready to rez once the correct rep guy spawned, adding to the difficulty. Once revered, craft the alchemy trinket, and run MGT normal until you hit exalted.
Then crafted the exalted alch trinket.

Now with flying being given to 60+, you can actually get to the tempest keep instances, and farm that rep a lot easier.

I'd be surprised if anyone cared about getting this anymore based on what is available from other professions. It should be noted that those dungeons were patched part way through TBC so that only level 70s could enter. This was put in place to combat bots as far as I know. Which meant that some quest items became grandfathered along with some profession items.

I assume this change carried over to wrath, but as I said I see little reason to go for this. Everyone 69 could previously get to botanica with rocket boot slow fall. Mechinar was much harder and the only people I know that got there were 69 rogues that dueled flying 70s repeatedly to shadowstep there from botanica. The rogue needed it for a quest item. Arcantraz was obviously unreachable.

I understand there are a lot of great profession options out there other than alchemy. However the base SP off this trinket is very nice, and the ability to have healing potions do 40% more is actually quite nice. With higher health pools available in wrath from engineering items, any extra bit of self healing you can get on some class is pivotal. Also I’m fairly certain lvl 65 healing potions are avail in wrath making it even more impactful. Not to mention free flasks which is kinda big.

yes there are better options out there, but for certain classes Alchemy is a great pick
