EU+US Aerie Peak channel, changes, been awhile

Hey dudes, wanting to come back and play some F2P. I don't have time for the Classic grind but it reignited my desire to run some casual BGs.

Wondering if there's still a chat channel on AP horde?

Also, what happened with BiS gear? Is it no longer BG crate blues? I looked at some armories and people had weird gear I'd never seen before.

Finally, are we no longer queued vs. 29s? What happened?

Thanks.

In short, quest rewards and rare drops now have a chance to upgrade and xp-on and xp-off ques have been separated again.

Oh and F2P add-on more or less works but nobody uses it because communities are a thing now.

That's the reader's digest version.

Hey what's up oldie, welcome back, too bad retail is virtually unplayable for f2p twinks. Did you know people can q on deathknights into the 20s bracket now? Talk about some shit.

"Communities are a thing now" what do you mean?

Also retail is unplayable? I played a BG last night and it seemed fine..?

battle net communities allow for groups of people up communicate via the bnet client. There are a number of twink communities out there.

Paging @ohti to explain that better

As for neon, you can ignore him. He's literally been saying retail is "unplayable" (and nothing else) for weeks.

now that vets can't invite each other without 2nd accounts bnet communities are basically only used for discussion

that being said, this one is the largest NA Bnet community afaik

Question on this though: I understood from somewhere else that F2Ps, and Vets who are not on subscription time, can only communicate through BattleNet -outside- of the game... Is that true? If so, do you just have to alt-tab to talk to anyone?

this is true, but afaik this is also the only type of community a f2p can join (don't think they can join char specific communities? @Chops probs knows.)

What about for Vets though, do they also have to alt-tab, or would a Vet account be able to use BNet within the game?

Interesting; so for any linked-F2P, like me, if they rolled a new F2P character on their original inactive account, instead of on their linked account, then they could have in-game BNet and still have all the same settings of a linked F2P.
