Thanks - I think if WoW still uses the ELO system then they probably do something similar to the USCF's sliding K-factor (that would account for the 96 rating wins at the start).
However whilst I was researching it, I came across this:
Not sure if that's true.
I'll hopefully start work on the addon sometime after 6.0 but I can't promise anything as I'll also be busy updating all my twinks' gear and getting ready for WoD release.
Yeah, Blizzard transitioned to a "Perceived Rating" formula back in Wrath. I don't think that's necessary for an Arena Rating addon to be successful, however. The "perceived flaws" in ELO are extremely subjective. Frankly ELO is the best system, because ELO is more accurate at a lower amount of games played - There doesn't need to be an extensive "honing in" on the player's actual rating.
Any help that I can give, whether it's in information, time, or donations, let me know. This is something that would interest me greatly.
Of course, we will need to see exactly how skirmishes are going to be when WoD is launched - currently F2Ps do not scale to 29, which makes it kind of rough for us.
Thanks for considering this project
