Aaww and Bamfcow's quest to downing an 85 elite.

There's an elite in zanga, fenstrider or whatever, dunno if he has anything special tho
 
I found your first 10 man boss:



Culuthas - NPC - World of Warcraft





Average melee dmg is about 900-1000.

His Chain felfire is an instant kill, but takes 3 seconds to cast and it's pretty easy to LoS.

He also has an AoE that does about 100 dmg and does a knockback with a 30 yrd range.

He also sleeps random people.



One of the beautiful things about this boss, is that his spells cost A LOT of mana and he does not have a lot of mana.

There's plenty of room to fight him. You only have to kill 5-6 non-elites to get plenty of room to kill him. I went ahead and did this for you:

I color coded everything for ya so it would make more sense(for me at least).



Black: Boss

White: Trash mobs. Kill these first

Red: Move Boss to this location

Yellow: The spot where Melee/Tank Stands.

Blue: The spot where Range/Healers Stand

Purple: Kite to each different yellow square





The easiest way to do this boss is LoS his Chain Felfire by kiting past each pole. What this will do is reset his cast timer, and he will usually try to recast it. But there were times(for me) where he went straight to melee. The melee hits are pretty easy to heal through in an avoidance set(high block/parry/dodge). Block dmg should only be about 700 dmg. But he does crit for about 1.8k so as long as you have 1400+ health you should be able to heal through the melee dmg. Force him to use Chain Felfire as much as possible and LoS it.



Feel free to tear this info up in any way you want to. Or you can try it a different way, w.e works for you :)

EDIT: He can also be stunned/Silenced. I have not tested it if he can be Slowed yet tho. Will do that now<3

EDIT: Alrighty, so he can be Stunned, Silenced, and Slowed. But He cannot be rooted in place. There ya go :D
 
next "boss" listed in original post. if u read up on him a bit you will see some priest spells but more importantly after he hits about 75% he summons 2 non elite "shadows" that fight while he stands there frozen. upon killing one he will release and begin to fight again. our plan, if successful, is to at this point... take both trash to about 20-30 hp left so when we down one and he reenters combat we will only be fight boss+ add for a short period of time.



of course this is a theory :p gotta get him below 75% first:). if anyone is on tomorrow around 11-1130pm we may end up taking u for support!
 
So i got more info on culthas after attempting to fight him with a lvl 85 healer healing me(resto druid with no totems and only using earth shield).



First of all, the max dmg he can do on a lvl 10 tank is 2004 dmg. As long as you have over 1.5k hp and you BLOCK the attack, you cannot die in 1 hit.



You can survive 2 hits if you block them as long as the boss doesn't do a "critical" hit on you, this is with 1.5k hp(fairly easy to get with buffs).



He does technically have an enrage timer. Everyone knows what an enrage timer is, after X amount of time; he hits faster/harder. After clearing all the adds out; they respawn in about 5-7 minutes. If you do not kill the boss within 5-7 minutes of killing the adds, they adds will respawn and cause you to go into his "enrage" timer. So now you'll have to fight the boss AND the adds(not very fun).



However, as long as you have 1.5k hp, good heals, continue to LoSing the Chain Felfire, and make sure the DPS watch their aggro; then this NPC is very doable. I am unsure exactly how many DPS you would need in order to kill him.



My math math be wrong, but lets see how it checks out:



The boss has about 22500 health, the adds respawns in about 300 seconds. If I had 5 DPS,how much would they need to do to kill him?



(22500/300)/5 = 15.



So each DPS would need to do about 15 DPS each(ignoring the tank's DPS) to kill the boss. But not only that, the boss can technically kill you in 1 hit, even with a priest's bubble on you. So will you be able to LoS each Chain felfire, not get 1 shotted, and manage to kill the boss in under 300 seconds before the adds respawn?

lol i can tell u with confidence that 7 minutes is highly unlikely to down a boss unless theres at least 5-10 on him. unless theres a hunter or 2. takes me and aaww 2 manning lvl 60's ver a half hour to down them.



most of the time aaww will take aggro and ill attack the mobs while aaww tanks them... that is, if aaww can survive confidently. this way i can actually land a attack from time to time:)
 
as for why were not updating the post atm... were waiting for our RARE mob to spawn. been checking him daily with no luck:(

If you read my first post about him, I said he could be the first raid boss, not 2 manning him.
 
we tried Yetimus with our lvl5 guild on Sorrowsong this weekend. was fun but we didnt get him below 50% he one hits dps and we didnt want to do a kite to gy kill.



with a lvl5 hunter, no hit gear yet on a 30+ elite mob, i was still getting 40 dps.
