my main twink at the moment is a 19 mage and this is my input- As a mage you will be doing pure CC, therefore you should get glyph of polymorph as well as glyph of slow fall (minor glyph). The polymorph because it removes the dots and the slow fall because in wsg and even sometimes arena (blades edge) i use a LOT of slow fall...That's actually one thing you should learn to master on your mage is slow falling at the right times (possibly even hotkey it)...Next, as a frost mage, your fights with other classes will have a long duration since your gear isnt meant for damage, i guess you could get a glass canon set for fun but i dont really advise it, it gets very old very fast in my opinion.
