First, I am not calling out anyone, I will address the guide authors and the holders of stickies as a whole. Several threads that are stickied, and are in the guide section
have not been updated for WoD,
have not been touched in months, some guides
haven't been even updated since 5.4!. This is one issue I want to address with the bracket, there will be minimal BGs, unless we step up to the plate and commit to what we have posted.
These guides, these stickies should be updated weekly, there is no excuse around it. I understand its the holidays, people have lives and such. But if your rocking the
Guide Author title, you should at least keep your guide up to date for the current expansion. For the stickies, there are plenty of twinks who are being swept under the rug due to the fact that no one is taking the time or liberty to update them in the armory threads. I myself; have fallen subject to being lazy while I moderated this forum and I do apologize for that. There are plenty of battletags that remain not on the list. There are plenty of active guilds going unnoticed because they aren't on the list!
Second, look at the sticky difference between the 10-19 section and the F2P section. There are a lot more stickies there, than there are here. One way we could promote the bracket, and promote activity is to have the sections that we are missing. The sections like macros and add-ons, movies, 10-19 info and index, CC index and Stat/Enchant scaling. These are some of the things that we the 19 community could use to our advantage to promote this bracket. Referencing back to the guide section, the F2P Bracket literally has
double the amount of guides the 19 bracket has.
I do understand that the main reason the 20-29 bracket (and F2P bracket) is so popular and populated is for the simple fact that there are BGs and consistent Arenas almost, if not literally 24/7. We've had some great people give up on this bracket and go to one that is more safe and comfortable. Your going to complain about the 10-19 bracket being "dead" and inactive, yet your going to betray that bracket, and only log on your 10-19 for scheduled BGs? This is one of the problems our bracket is facing, not enough people logged onto their twink during the day and qued into WSG.
Fixing the bracket starts with you, the individual and the community. We can sit here and post about how we're going to organize stuff like the Southshore vs Tarren Mill thread I had posted, but unless you get the people who left us back, and new people to come, and consistently play the twink they build or are funded. We will never go anywhere. We will always be stuck in this rut.
Finally, if we truly want this bracket to come back to life, we will need guilds to be actively recruiting, doing events, funding people, and the forum and bracket actually know about it! Once again; this references back to the Stickies. We have multiple guilds
aside from the 5 that are listed in the Guild Directory, yet people have to sift through the Guild Recruitment section in an attempt to find an active guild. Granted; it isn't that difficult but we do have other active guilds, that are premading, that are recruiting, that ARE hosting events and ARE funding new twinks, yet they are not given the spotlight they deserve.
TLDR
We are to blame for our inactivity.
