A few questions about 60 twinking

Hey there. About 2 weeks ago (shortly before the new patch actually) I purchased a new vanilla account just so I could play 60 twink pvp unhindered. I have invested an OBSCENE amount of money and time into him (it is a warrior). I just now found out that the 60 AV bracket is no longer around....

So I wasted alot of gold and time and RL money to get to this point, and now I'm not sure what to do. I cannot fight equal level 60's in AV or any BG, and if I do go BG, I have to fight the level 69 people. I did intend on doing a BC trial just so I could have my ugly set of "twink" gear decked out with epic gems and such, but now it seems I may have to do that just to actually PvP now. Now that I'am at this point, what do I do now? My previous goal is no longer attainable, so now I need help.

1. Are level 69 people hard to kill using purely old-world raiding gear?

2. Is there a US server that has a wide 60 community in it? (none of this 69 twink bullshit)

3. Is there anything at 60 that still holds the attention of the remaining 60 twinks? (basically is there anything that makes them keep playing)

I'm new to the twinking scene, and it seems I got here a bit too late to actually enjoy it. I want to play my warrior, it just seems that pvp won't be the place for it. I'd like to talk to some veteran "twinkers" so I can get a good grasp on what is left for the 60 bracket, and general info on twinking. So if your looking to make a new friend, add me on MSN; bigdealer6@gmail.com =] or my AIM is Genoseid

Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it.

I am a veteran 49 (and have done some 59 twinking) and presently boycotting those brackets until more of my buddies decide to transfer their twinks to RUIN for 49s...

My buddy and I are fairly new to 60s, and even after 3.2 & 3.2.2, we do enjoy it though not as much as we did 49s before 3.2... We are doing 60s because that is the best place we can find to twink in the Cyclone BG and don't want to tranfer for now...

I can say that 3-4 of us on Uldum do 60-69 PVP and can do ok with old world gear but can get owned if a fully 'twinked' 67-69 shows up (though the good news is they will level out of the bracket soon). 1 of us has full AQ and such 60 gear and he does fine even against a 69 twink but my buddy and I went ahead and did the 10 day trials to be on a more level playing field with some socketed gear etc...

If you were to come to uldum I can do what I can maximize your use of the 10-day BC trial to help you get Best-in-Slot (BiS) gear for your warrior. I suspect that your BiS is the same as our two Paladins.. You would need your own gold and such for gems/enchants but with communication/coordination I could likley block a weekend to help you get your quests/drops to get your BiS gear via RAMPs and HH... Have done it multiple times and need to do it at least once more at some point...

The following is my buddies's gear that I just twinked last weekend:

chardev.org v6 ~ a World of Warcraft character planner

He is picking his own gems and specs so I can't speak for that...

My first attempt to prove it out is on this char that I did before his:

chardev.org v6 ~ a World of Warcraft character planner

Not that this character is on my primary account with WotLK & has XP on and I plan to play him to 69 in this bracket (level via PVP only). I went stamina crazy on him to see how sick I could get him but I am thinking that I will likely re-gem with str/crit and maybe a defense set... I will also likely take his engineering to 450 and get him totally sick by the time he is at 69 so that he will be semi-fun to level all the way to 80 on pvp...

Once this char hits 69 or 70, if not before, I plan to go and do the gear runs for my other 60 paladin who hasn't done the 10 day BC trial yet...

I'am so sorry I havn't replied to this thread for a bit, some things happened in real life that kept me from talking for a bit. Im back again and looking to make some twinking buddies =] Once I get my gear situation sorted out, I really want to move servers and find a dedicated 60 twinking guild so I can actually have someone to talk to lol.

And also thank you for replying nodoze, I appreciate the advice =]

(also sorry about the necro Mods, I just figured replying to this thread was better than making a new one)

Our guild "I only Raid Pre BC" is still fizzling with lack of leadership and participation in the 60 raids. My buddy and I really only came in for 60 PVP so the lack of big raids isn't really a big deal for us.

I don't know of any active 60 guilds but frankly haven't been looking as we are not wanting to move our 60s as we are having fun as we are.

If you don't find an active 60 twink guild you are welcome to join us on Uldum. Typically right now there are only 2-3 going into BGds together. My buddy and I play Paladins and we have random others join us from time to time. If you joined & Qed with us we try to stick together and you would get 2 auras and buffs from us in addition to teamwork on vent... We are both married with kids and typically play 2-4 times a week for several hours typcially between 7:30-10:30pm Central week days and whenever we both can on weekends (we typically SMS text each other and get on if we both can).

Be happy to include you if you are like minded. We are semi-casual and mainly do BGds (prefer WSG and 2nd Q AB or sometimes AV). We are both Protection Paladins so when not focusing on objectives (returning or capturing flags) we like to jump into as many 69s as we can and take them all down with our AoEs and multi-target attacks... Tonight we both took down pretty much their whole team by ourselves in the first run (we took turns bubbling/healing & laying on hands)...

If you transferred the least I would be happy to do is help you maximize your 10 day trial. I know how to get all the BiS gear (assuming Warriors will be same as our Paladins) and even have a 58 horde deathknight that I will let you kill over and over to get your HH marks for you BiS rings (you should be able to get 17 gem slots like us)... If we coordinated together I can likely pick a Saturday to run ramps 10 or so times to help you get your gear... I do not give people gold however so you would need to do that yourself though if you wanted to max engineering & or mining I could also post the guides we used...

Anyway, have fun whatever you do... We are not "the best" but we like what we do and have been twinking for years together. I can say that a 60 can absolutely rock and is almost as fun as 49s used to be...

My 60 ud mage wears exactly the same gear as Vurtne did pre-tbc (Full Blue pvp gear)

and believe me or not but i pwn.

Though they are not BiS, I agree that you can do fine with PVP only gear though I would upgrade to the epic as I went (takes awhile to earn the honor and marks though). One downside is that you are pretty recognizable in some of the sets (Paladin for example) and people tend to go after & gang up on you.

The bottom line is that 60 twinking on non-expansion accounts is kinda a crap-shoot as the skill and gear in the games can vary widely. It is basically like twinking in other brackets pre-3.2 except that you aren't the highest level of any BG any longer and therefor have more of a challenge.

2 months from now all the 67-69 semi twink and twink players will have leveled out. So it will be all good

Can a moderator please ban the two peoples posts advertising movies and porn above me? Pretty messed up IMO.

Well those are some interesting "movie" posts lol. From the way you guys talk it sounds like there is no point in twinking at 60 anymore, is this true? =/

You can report them by clicking on the "triangle with the exclamation point" at the lower right hand corner of thier posts.

If you are on an account with expansions and have to PVP with XP OFF (or level) then I don't know why you would stay at 60 unless you are wanting to raid pre bc and stay at 60... In that case I would do a 69 but I don't know if 69 BGds with XP OFF pop anyhere...

If you are on an account with no expansions then I think that 60 twinking is very viable & fun with XP on... I highly recommend you at least find a buddy as it is much more fun with at least one other person... There are at least 4-5 of us in my guild that do it and we enjoy it. I find it more fun than the high end stuff and once your 60 is done all you do with your time is play (not have to focus on getting new gear/enchants).

My twink (Drixx) is on a vanilla-only account, so I suppose that is good :) How wide is the pvp gap for 60's and 69's?

I personally have no experience on this right now, however I would think because of hitcap that out of all the 60s healers would do well, followed by maybe flag carriers depending how high your hp was. Just my input from logic imo.

Yes, you should be good...

From experience, our 60's can own most 1v1 though a semi-twinked or fully-twinked 67-69 has a clear advantage (though temporary because they will level out). Us 2 prot paladins can usually own 4-6 enemies in the bracket but part of that is coordination and team play... When they get organized they can really rock you.

I don't have a handle on what value to put on "to hit" in building the ideal gear as we do miss quite a bit and there are some cool abilityies that kick in 61-69 that you miss but I still like it.

I found my 60 paladin in holy spec/gear was fairly easy to burst down and CC and I like Prot much more though my holy gear is not gemed (just enchanted 60 BC greens and raid gear) while my prot gear is all gemmed... As a FC I do OK even though I don't have a true defensive/stamina gear set...

I am not sure how a healer will do (though very enterested to see).

healers i think woudl do great. can stack stamina, and spellpower and not worry about hit. My latest chardev has 706bonus spell power and 8k hp with 5k mana. Thats rediculous as a 60 resto druid! it was also self buffed.

You may be right as that sounds awesome.

If you guys come to Uldum I would love to help put it to the test. The only problem is that a 60 twink party of 2-3 Paladins & a Warrior with a pocket druid healer would be a little too sick...

Twinking at 60 in the 60-69 bracket on a classic account is a LOT more fun than being top dog. People totally underestimate you, and there is nothing better than solo capping a graveyard and then having that 69 rogue die because of your shield (i play a disc priest =P).

It is so much more of a challenge, and in return offers a lot more enjoyability. The only thing you would have to do is get a big more hit than you normally would (i don't on my priest, offensive healer/1v1 fights mostly, but a melee class will need it!)

So play your twink, enjoy it as long as you can. Vanilla was the best part of WoW and playing a 60 kind of brings it back.

ya. even with my setup on my druid that i want to get, i'll have 5% hitcap built in from just the armor. If i duel spec for boomkin, with the talent i can get like 9% hit? something weird like that, but it makes my gear interchangeable.

Fighting 69s successfully is certainly a blast but honestly.. with most classes you are purely relying on them being retarded. Any lvl 69 with some northrend greens and half a brain can knock you down. (The exception to this rule of course being ret paladins, you can still beat competent 69s with some cooldowns)
