EU+US A Comprehensive Guide for the Total Beginner.

1) you can. But the bouquet of black roses is a higher item level and costs a couple gold from a vendor.

2) how you play your toon is up to you.

@Imnotabelf can you tell me the full name of the armor pieces. Its something like "recruits armor of the ..." right? I just don't even know where to start looking for it on wowhead

Cloth = Auxiliary
Leather = Rookie
Mail = Greenhorn
Plate = Front-line

Just type those in and look for the ilvl 43 gear. That is what is obtainable at level 20 (at ilvl 25 and 28 respectively).

Yeah righto. Are we also left out of the roll if we are grouped with a high level who has looted?
99% of the time the answer is yes. The only exceptions I've seen are Timeless Isle mobs (I got Cursed Hozen Swabby toy in 7.1; but it can be a hit and miss i.e. not 100% loot eligibility), Ethereum Prison Key mobs, and the trolls spawning from the Shallow Graves outside Zul'Farrak. Also, although this is not strictly kill-looting, rogues can still pickpocket Draenor mobs for Dingy Iron Coin items, and Northrend mobs for the rogue dice toys (I haven't gotten it though, but I've gotten plenty of trash items on the loot table).
Old characters kept their >100 secondaries unless they did a quest that awarded a skill point (dailies, DMF profession quests), new F2Ps have a cap of 100.
If you in any way interacted with an NPC related to the secondary professions, LOG OUT IN A RESTED ZONE IMMEDIATELY to avoid your skills being hardresetted to 100. Case in point: Pilgrim's Bounty dailies. While they don't give cooking skillups, logging out in a non-rested area immediately after turning in the food WILL result in a hard reset (as I found out the hard way), while logging out in rested zone won't.

This is not the thread you're looking for :p

Did a pretty big overhaul of the gearing section. Since Original and Aislingyngaio were kind enough to put together a BiS pvp gear guide and a list of battlefield crate goods (respectively) I changed the gearing section to be a sort of "beginners gear set" that could be acquired in an easy weekend for pve purposes, and then fleshed out using their guides.

Added a section on getting your first heirlooms through DMF and hyperlinked a bunch of items.

Thanks for all the Advice Chops! I just started WOW entirely about two months ago and this forum has some solid information.

Just want to chip in a little bit with exploration. I first started WOW during the Lunar New Year Fest, as a Chinese I was pretty determined to collect coins to get the lantern and this incentivized me to go beyond what a normal lvl 20 would do.

Corpse dragging in zones like Twilight Highland wasn't exact the most enjoyable thing to do. But one way to save some time is to start queuing for dungeons and BGs. You can enter instances when dead and return from instances to the spot alive. Therefore if there are particular points you what to reach (like the Ancestors, new flight locations or zones undiscovered), all you have to do is to run over in spirit form and wait for your queues. It may not be the most time efficient method, but it reduces frustration to corpse dragging and can become really helpful to pass some tough mob crowds or when you can fly in spirit forms (Twilight Highland, Ice Crown, etc.), and Mount Hyjal where your spirit releases in Ashenvale.

A related note: only wear stuff without durability, and re-gear once you are in the instance. Items in bag only reduce durability when you resurrect at Spirit Healers.

Also some alternatives to get to Vale of Eternal Blossoms if you prefer to get there yourself.

As monks, dreamwalk gets you to Kun-Lai Summit, while you are restricted to the zone you can drown yourself and leave in spirit form. Using the instance/resurrect method helps you to get out off the peak and explore Kun-Lai Summit. Some parts of the mountains near Eastwind Rest actually counts as Vale of Eternal Blossoms and if you go there in spirit form you can actually gain the Griffin to fly over the mountains and enter the Vale.

Another method I discovered as a rogue is through Blingtron Party Port. Sometimes you get ported to the Jaded Forest, you can start exploring most zones of Pandaria and when you reach to East Gate of the Vale in Townlong Stepps, even though the gate is closed its still counted as part of the Vale, so when you die there your spirit is released inside the vale. You can also die in Townlong Stepps and run over to the East Gate and gain the Griffin mount to fly in. This is probably the most time consuming method to get in as you have to run through half of the Pandaria and its pure luck to get the Blingtron Portal. But it was the very first way I found to get there and helps you to get the exploration achievement.

You'll have to get a mage portal. Which, given that we can't communicate outside of dungeons and BGs, will be tricky. But there are enough twinks in BGs that you might find a sympathetic one with a high level mage that would be willing to give you a port to Pandaria.

Or, since you're on these forums anyway, asking here might also get you somewhere ;)
I remember quite sometime ago, I think it may have been @Crystalpall that mentioned it. A good way to look for a Port to Pandaria outside of a bg / dungeon was along the lines of :-
Rename one of your non-combat pets to something like 'Port to Shrine'. Then go around /pointing at all the high level mages. Eventually one will point back or acknowledge you, then point to your pet.
I recently got my F2P Rogue to Pandaria, took about 20 mages but eventually one worked it out, put me in group, created a portal and I excitedly made my way to Pandaria ;)
Seems though F2P cannot talk to high levels, we can emote them.

Edit : Nice guide btw @Chops :)

Are we sure about that? I tried the usual Tomb od Lights place a few weeks ago and all mobs were tagged as "pockets already picked".
Still works, well it did 1 week ago when I did it on my Rogue and purchased a http://www.wowhead.com/item=120435/mossy-green-mask. This may seem out there, but there could have been a high level Rogue in there pick pocketing and you just couldn't see him? The high level Rogue can stand on the portal side of the battle and not aggro the Mage mobs, whereas we have to stand behind the battle to pick pocket. If there was, it's likely he was getting the pockets first.
Otherwise I cannot explain why you weren't able to pick pocket. I didn't have any issues last week.
