If you could...it'd take the fun out of it



If a mage's frostbolt didnt slow but hit for the same amount as their fireball...



and maybe the fireball hit the same amount as a shadowbolt...



Balance doesnt make the game fun, unbalance does. In order to be balance everything has to be the exact same.



WoW will never work that way and if they get close to that point wow will die.

Works both ways. The homogenization of class roles (especially healers) in Cata, likely in an attempt to bring about better balance overall, has actually hurt the 'fun' aspect of the game. Even more important than perfect balance is the desire to keep each class distinct and unique from one another. Cataclysm messed up this chemistry a lot and it shows.
